Hi tsheridan,
Sorry you ran into issues here!
Our version in the repo right now isn’t compatible with WP 4.2.2 or any version since about 3.x. We’re still testing things to get the plugin updated and add in some new features. Some of the old plugins that used to integrate are no longer available so it’s taking a bit longer to get suitable replacements.
However, I can get you the current version we have under development which ISN’T blowing up to help move you along here. Please contact me directly: https://greatrealestateplugin.com/contact/ and we’ll get you hooked up with it.
Hi Williamews,
Yes, I apologize–the original author let the site expire so I’m in the process of creating a new one with all the necessary goodies (forum, docs)
You can access the very old documentation from web.archive.org here:
We’re going to pull all this info over to the new site shortly (https://greatrealestateplugin.com) but it’s not quite ready yet. We’re still updating the plugin for 4.1.1.
Hi oceanfrontrealty,
Yeah–this plugin is a bit old and we’re working to update it with modern WP versions now. Thanks for posting this issue, we’ll be getting back into working order soon!
You never mentioned if you’re on shared hosting. Is that the case here?
How many listings do you have?
Hi AWCVS,
You shouldn’t need to edit template pages to adjust strings. For something like that, using the translation file to switch them out is easiest and least painful. Here’s how to set that up and activate it: https://awpcp.com/quick-start-guide/#qs-translate
Ignore the parts where it says you have to change all the strings in the file, only alter those that you find you need to.
Hi hlbuckner2,
If you’re on shared hosting, there’s not much we can offer if it’s struggling to display the output. What happens if you switch themes? Do things work then? It could be the theme, too.
Hi yourgoal,
You’ll need to use a custom CSS file and Firebug or a similar tool to do what you’re looking for here. Here is an article about how to use custom CSS with Business Directory in a way that doesn’t get overwritten on upgrade of BD: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-use-custom-styles-with-bd-2-1/
If the CSS part isn’t something you’re feeling comfortable about, my best suggestion to get this handled appropriately would be to hire WPCurve to help you out here—they’re WP experts and for $69, you can’t beat their “unlimited 30 min tasks” in a month. This strikes me as something they would definitely be able to fix quickly and easily. They really get these kinds of issues. Here’s how to contact them: https://wpcurve.com
Hi yourgoal,
Sorry for the delay in response–my login seems to be locked out, so I had to use another profile today. We have a complete guide to all the files in the plugin and which ones control what functions. That’s what you should review to find the right page for you: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/docs/customization-guide/

In reply to: [Per page add to head] Insertion order of global vs page-specific head dataThanks for fixing it so fast. ?? The config option was a suggestion in case the order was intentional, which it sounds like it’s not.
