i tried dropping in that wp-db but it made no difference

yep, dashboard only shows the one new page and one new uploaded image.

there are lots of posts but these are all previous stock entries, categories, pages etc

as you flick through the garbage, the pictures that do show up, 2 of them are not in the media panel and one entry shows “GP Fonts” and that was the name of a plugin!!!

ok, my apologies, i was merely trying to let others know that there are more than just them with the exact same issue, will not do it again.

the URLS thingy should be ok because i restored using Duplicator which has always done a good job of updating links so far. I have installed these in plenty of subdomains and domains in the last week or two and they have all updated ok

yes but the pages that are missing were not and neither was all the media???

you can see an image on one post but its not showing in the media library

i have just created a new page, uploaded an image and place that image on the page then made this page the home page. This all worked as expected.

will try that now but the site is changing while i am looking at it!!!!!!

a minute ago the home page showed the correct text but no pictures and had /home-2/ in the URL

Now its showing a mish-mash of posts which are all headings only and the /home-2/ has vanished from the URL

the DB shows content

it was created this afternoon from a previously working backup of the site from last week

not sure what the DB should look like inside but i can see data, media is still in correct folder

the home page should have three large images in the centre – they are all gone.

the media folder shows empty, pages shows empty, products are empty

the media is still on the disk though

have applied 2013 theme and the page now loads but all media is still missing

just tried that and the site just shows a blank white page now???

wp-admin still lloads but still shows bad data

tried a manual re-install and it made no difference

can this be the same issue i am suffering…

i have three WP installs, all were running fine until yesterday afternoon when that all fail with the same errors – the site has lost all media, pages, posts etc – the folders in WPadmin all show empty but the data is still on the disk.

Any data left on the site is all piled onto the home page, its a wreck on all 3 sites.

It occurred at at the same time i got the updated sites email so seems a strong coincidence.

Any ideas ? I am tearing my hair out here as one of the sites was e-commerce and its costing me ￡￡￡￡ now, any help appreciated

i have no files to reinstall, I am waiting to hear from hosts, I have only been with them a week, moved from another host.
