In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Expanding the 300 episode limit?Hi @eneasz,
This isn’t a limit so much in PowerPress as it is with podcast apps and directories. Very few (if any) podcast directories will show more than the 300 most recent posts in your feed. Also, having more than 300 episodes in your feed will slow it to a crawl and there’s a very good chance it won’t update in directories or apps.
We recommend directing listeners to your website for older episodes.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Apple Podcasts delay….Hey @jasonebar,
The latest episode in your feed is from yesterday and I see it and can play it in my browser. That’s good.
It could very well be Apple not updating (which happens more often than you’d expect), but it could also be site caching that held the episode back from your feed until it cleared.
Based on tickets we’ve received in our system, it’s very possible it’s an Apple issue.
Hi @unitet,
I don’t see your show in Apple, either.
I ran your RSS feed through our validator and there are some things you’ll want to update in PowerPress. https://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=https://traumedypodcast.com/feed/podcast/
Next, I would login to your Apple Podcasts dashboard at https://podcastsconnect.apple.com and make sure your feed hasn’t been removed for some reason.
Good deal! Happy podcasting!
Hi @jasonebar,
Your feed validates just fine, so that’s good. The only thing I see that could be causing the issue is your podcast artwork image. It needs to be a minimum of 1400×1400 pixels / a maximum of 3000×3000 pixels and no larger than 05.MB in size. Try updating the image and give Apple and other directories some time to update.
Also, it can take a few hours for Apple to update their listing with your latest episode, so I wouldn’t panic if it hasn’t been over 24 hours. Anyone subscribed will get the new episode regardless.
Let me know if you have any other questions or issues.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Unpublish a podcastI’m finding that MP3 file in this feed – https://dev.cedcommerce.com/blog/podcast/feed/ – so it looks like the issue is purely between caching and Google re-pulling your RSS feed.
I would clear your site’s cache, your server cache, and give Google at least 24 hours to update.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Unpublish a podcastHi @kirtimaurya,
There’s a very good chance the feed is cached and Google hasn’t re-pulled it since you removed the media file from the post. Can you reply with your RSS feed and I’ll take a look?

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] New podcasts are not showing upHi @michfm,
The Blubrry Directory simply needs to re-pull your RSS feed to update. No problem. You should see a change within the next couple of hours after releasing a new episode.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Speaker categoryHi @icetechy,
The easiest thing to do is create a category for each speaker and create a link within your navigation menu to the category/categories. That will take users to episode archives with the speaker they’ve chosen with the episode’s player right there with the post.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Submitting to SpotifyHi @gotigersjf,
I assume you’re using Podcast Channels, based on your feed URL? If so, make sure you’re updating the description in the Channel’s Feed tab and the email address in the Apple tab. The main settings will only work with the default podcast URL (/feed/podcast), but Channel, Category, and Post Type podcasting have separate settings areas.
Hi @multimastery,
Yes, the PowerPress plugin is only for those who want to operate a podcast from their WordPress site. It’s not built for sharing episodes from pre-existing podcasts.
Could you reach out to us directly at Blubrry Support at https://blubrry.com/contact/ so we can take a closer look?
Hi @jimmyeatpod,
All of that information should be included within your RSS feed. ID3 tags aren’t used for podcast metadata. The RSS feed is where all of that information comes from and the title of the blog post will be the title of the episode, no matter what is in the ID3 tags.
