In reply to: [Elementor Website Builder - More than Just a Page Builder] padding issues@adminyazo
… unfortunately not.i think you did read the referring thread on generatepress forums, but i will try to explain again:
latest gp-version fixed the issue partially in the way that all padding (set in gp-layout-settings) is removed for elementor-row. so far all right, and sections extend full width as expected without any padding, regardles the settings for gp.
1. BUT: now all content of elementor stretches full width – even text etc.! and that is quite annoying on smaller screens when text hits the borders of the screen! so you have to tweak with some custom css to set this padding for elementor content again.
2. BUT: if e.g. you want to set a google map within any section and to show it full width, then this won’t do out of the box… just because you have this column inside the section that wont stretch full width even if set in elementor – because of the css from before!
for this again you have to tweak with some custom css.so thats the weak point for now!
tom of gp did it the right way and eliminated the padding for elementor-items allowing them to stretch full width.
but you are NOT able to set these paddings within elementor site-wide, page-wide or per section as it should be to maintain layout and padding as supposed!
for now you have to deal with some css as long as it is not possible – thats what i tried to explain above .-)
gp provided the right base now, but elementor lacks of the possibility to deal with it (untill now – i think yehudah knows what i was aiming at…)try for yourself with gp+elementor and you will experience what i mean!!
if you’re not into ‘full with’ that won’t bother anyway.you’re king!
…with options and lightbox???
looking forward to it. :-))
some mail to support is already in your hands i think… was a bit faster than the ‘brute squad’. sorry.
ahhh! sorry.
so i think i completely missunderstood you. different language sometimes leads to this ??
but – i am staying on that what i claimed before:
you really cant have a builder of that power and use the native wp gallery and have to ‘adapt’ the theme with css coding. (in my opinion)
regardless the fact that i am just too lazy to look how this is correctly done every time i am facing something like this… ??some things are elementary to me for a builder – and this is one thing among them (besides post grids and template management)!
but elementor is still young and promising with much room to expand! and i am full of hope you will do the job and get over the competitors :-).
i dont think you can beat VC and others only with speed, lack of shortcodes and lightweight on the long run (although its a BIG advantage), you also have to have features that can compete with them!?by the way – thats no criticism to you!
the start is that great and expectations are high – you yourself promote your builder in that way. so all i want to do is to give my contribution to bring it towards the target we’re aiming at.
and if there is a pro version in some near future i will buy it regardless if i really need it or not, even if the only reason is to honor that project!all in all – thumbs up again. for your support as well as for the rest!
jep.
elementor with generate press is an awesome team!great advantages: both lightweight and strong with no ugly shortcodes.
but: both have to be improved to beat its competitiors completely!* ??*this been said regarding the ‘total customization over layout’.
and yes – some deeper tuts for elementor even would be great.@yehudah …hmmm.
sorry, but i dont think its a theme problem. the theme i am using is fully responsive and does its job perfectly – with the exception of the (included native wordpress) gallery.tested with external gallery-plugin and got a perfekt result:
envira
only disadvantage: you have to deal with ugly shortcodes again.native wordpress gallery was a pain in the ass many times before, so i dont think its a good idea to use this in elementor.
apart from that, a builder with the qualities of elementor deserves a better gallery included…
– fully responsive
– options for gaps
– alignung options (grid, masonry, …)
– link target options
– buildt in lightboxTHAT would be a real charming solution! :-))
supposed this is wp-gallery… but thats NOT responsive, right? (only getting smaller on mobile, but not rearranging the thumbs)
so i do have to use another gallery if i want to have that?sorry … could have been a solution – but:
where are my ‘non-colored’ gaps between the widgets then?
this results only in one big colored block, not in three separated colored objects…anyway – thats not the point at all! that was to give the widgets (columns) in the same row (section) an even hight…
or am i missing something?
have you gut a contact-mail to send you the online-example?
The bg-color is set within the widgets.
