Hey @sstoqnov, my chainsaw will not crank!

Is it possible for you to exclude our production site styles, https://laserimagenc.com, in your exclude list similar to how you were able for our development site, https://dev.laserimagenc.com?

    That would be great!

Not being a developer, it took me a moment to come to this realization. But, this *potential* solution came to me overnight and I was excited to get to work so I could tear into the code and experiment with my theory …

    Thanks for verifying!

This ought to be fun, I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous.

Now, where is my chainsaw? ??

    @sstoqnov

After the CSS issue was resolved on our development site I updated the SG Optimizer plugin on our live, production site. It appears the original issue appeared there, also.

I have since reverted back to 5.2.1 so you will not be able to view the offending results.

When you “excluded your theme stylesheet from the CSS Combination” was that for our dev.laserimagenc.com site only? Are you modifying the your plugin code to specifically address this issue? Are there concerns we should be looking at on our end with regard to our combination of theme, plugins and custom code?

    Thanks in advance,
    Daryl Pittman

    OP here,

I’m getting the automated emails, also. Our site seems to be working as expected.

Just updated Development site to 2.7.2. It will be a couple of days before I update Production site which is from where I get the automated emails.

    Will stay tuned!

    Thanks for having a look.

For the record, we moved to HTTPS a year-and-a-half ago. I read about mixed content requests then. Had I actually thought about the tiling being the issue I *might* have concluded there was a CSS issue. But, I wouldn’t have known where to start looking to solve the problem. The Dev Tools Console is chocked full of insights, I’ll have to refer to it more often as matter of learning how to glean information from it.

You have given me a new perspective.

Have a pint … knowing you helped out someone, today!

Folks, thanks for looking into this. I just checked the same error log and this situation seems to be last recorded on 1/13 which is about the time I noticed the error logged. Everything seems to be operating as expected. I ran into this when I was, out-of-the-blue, looking at error logs. I occasionally check them out because I found one had grown into a huge monster, if you get my drift.

I passed this along as a means of making the product better.

I don’t know of any “must use”? plugins. The developer who built our site between 2014-2016 did very expertly add custom scripts, though.

Ha, ha (In a good way!)

“Are you able to tell us what version of PHP you are using?” is the most relevant question I’ve heard all day! ??

According to my CPanel (for SiteGround) trip to phpMyAdmin, the Web server PHP version is 5.6.30 …

Yet, a System Status report of my WordPress site says this:

    ### PHP ###

Version: 7.0.33 ? Recommended: PHP 7.1 or higher.
    Memory Limit: 768M
    Maximum Execution Time: 120
    Maximum File Upload Size: 128M
    Maximum File Uploads: 20

    Thanks for looking at this.

Let me know if this is irrelevant or need more information.

After further investigation, the attachment id query string mentioned above relates directly to the Draft post as opposed to the image as I claimed.

I am looking into the create post dashboard UI in WordPress to find a of “hiding” Drafts, updating sitemap in AISEO then checking to see if the Draft has been removed from the sitemap.

In the end, eventually, the Draft will become a bonafide post. But, by then Google has picked up the query string …

    Thread Starter darylpittman

    (@darylpittman)

    Well, that escalated quickly!

When reading the Github submissions, the question is what are the desired results? I am not a developer and not certain of how solutions come about in Github … The “problem” is described but a desired solution is not included. The solution can be implied from context within the stated problem but, as in #1834, the answer could be as easy as “Don’t have unattached images.” In this case this solution wouldn’t need any extra coding.

Participate!? If by that you mean concoct rambling posts … I’m all in! ??

    Thanks for the responsiveness, Michael!

Thanks for looking into this, Michael. In the end I think I am talking myself into circles … ??

Truth be told, I have no problem with https://laserimagenc.com/kelly_clark_v2/, which is an unattached image, resulting in a 404. What I wish, at least what I think I wish, is for URLs such as this example to not be in Google SERP results for our website. If every (unattached) image ends up in the SERP results then there is a whole bunch of, I dare say, useless URLs getting in the way of content-based URLs. Of course, image attachment pages can be useful if used for content such as a photographer. But, if images are merely a royalty-free decoration for a blog post then I feel there is no need for it to be indexed separately.

What I prefer is what I think comes about when using the Direct to Parent Post URL such as: https://laserimagenc.com/our-team/kelly_clark_v2/. If that URL is used the visitor, as you know, is redirected to the “our-team” page/post.

I have gone through Google Remove URL, recently, and cleaned over 300 URLs “short-version” (unattached image) URLs that have accumulated over the years …

Unattached vs. attached image is where this particular adventure began for me. Choosing an image from the Media Library as opposed to bringing in a image through the Post/Page build UI lends two different results. One way will give the “preferred” redirect URL, if using a plugin, the other will result in a unattached URL which for the most part is an lack-luster no-information image attachment page.

It’s these self discoveries which WordPress is built upon! :))))))
As Doug Foster and I have said in the past, … there are a lot of nerd knobs!

I have also discovered if a post/page is in Draft an attachment id query string is generated to the sitemap even if the image is attached. ie. https://laserimagenc.com/?attachment_id=0000. So, now I am attempting to come up with a system which allows me to draw up Drafts without having image attachment URLs for legitimately attached images submitted to the sitemap. Suggestions?

    Or, something … :/

    Thank you,
    Daryl Pittman

I’ll admit I may have spoken too quickly and/or using a browser cashed SERP page? I have been making sure I continuously use a no history browser …

I am currently going through Google Search Console to remove links leading to 404.

Am I going about this properly? Of, course it all depends what I am shooting for, eh?

Clean up a bit would be my answer top that.

    (@darylpittman)

    Will do!

I went there, once, but I didn’t see “Create Topic” at top. :/

    Thanks for the link, Steve.
