In reply to: [Publish To Apple News] API Error – Not publishing with imagesUpdate: I wrote to Apple and whilst they did not admit changing anything, they suggested it would now work… the publishing did yet due to Apple not trusting Finnish users to use its mighty “News App” I had no way to test it… took a friend in the UK to check. Bizarre they restrict the “App”, even if you know there’s only “foreign” content…

In reply to: [Publish To Apple News] API Error – Not publishing with imagesThanks. I will check. Earlier I had the “approval” message from Apple but did not do much more with it as (at the time) the plugin was not working and other things got in the way. That was then…

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] "WordPress SEO by Yoast has been updated" isn't removedThis is still happening with the latest version of Yoast and WP and it is starting to annoy.
It feels like spamming and I’ve seen no way to turn off this “advice”.

In reply to: [Publish To Apple News] API Error – Not publishing with imagesI’d like to add a “me too” and I have the latest version and remote images set to yes.
Debugging by email is allegedly on but I don’t get any mail… just the error “There has been an error with the API. Please make sure your API settings are correct and try again: ONLY_PREVIEW_ALLOWED with each publish attempt.”
Maybe I am doing something obviously wrong, but what…?
TIA

In reply to: [Visitor Analytics and Lead Generation Plugin by Inbound Rocket] MailchimpThanks for the update. I need to revisit the plugin in the not-too-distant future.
Thanks (sorry for the delayed response).
Developers should remember that not every user will talk the same technical talk (whatever language they use) and thus what might be obvious to one in one language, can be different to another.
I shall give it a further kick and see what happens. Regards, Darren
Thanks. This presumes the user is a fluent “tech speaker” but which is the option for “first sentence” or “first paragraph” as so far I can’t exactly see them.
Please remember YOU know what they mean as YOU wrote the plugin.
For example whose “processed” does this mean? %EXCERPT% – Inserts the excerpt of the post (processed) and how is an excerpt determined.
It might be obvious to those who know…
Simpler “first sentence”, “first paragraph” options would be much better as alternatives.

In reply to: [Italy Cookie Choices (for EU Cookie Law & Cookie Notice)] Mobile issue?Ah, thank you. This is a bit of a dark art to me, so I will ask the person who helps me with CSS and kicking things to do it.
It is strange it did not appear on my iPhone or iPad despite cleaning the cookies, but may be there’s a temporary issue. As it shows at your end, even with bad CSS, it is clear it is working.
Thank you for your kind and very fast help!
Darren

In reply to: [Visitor Analytics and Lead Generation Plugin by Inbound Rocket] MailchimpThanks re MailChimp. For me, personally, it is a non urgent thing but we are likely to go along that route so it would be natural to select compatible elements.
Regarding Facebook, we can take that by mail, but for the benefit of the public watching the problems were related to accessing ANY settings within your plugin, rather than accessing the settings of other plugins.

This whole EU cookie rule is a nonsense anyway, made worse with it being different by country (why, Italy, why) as many of the cookie plugins decide to serve cookies up before the alert, which is against the Italian rules. I doubt the Italian navy will come and shoot at me from the lakeside, but…
This plugin seems to be the best performing so far in my trials and is being updated “Italy Cookie Choices (for EU Cookie Law)” although, bizarrely, at the time of writing it works on desktop theme but not mobile.
Can’t blame your plugin for that
Now, if eventually adding such a feature is “easy” within yours, it is a good value add and may draw others in at the same time.

In reply to: [Visitor Analytics and Lead Generation Plugin by Inbound Rocket] Config issueYes, fire email if you need more.
To be clear, for the benefit of any public watching, the apparent problem with accessing configuration options is (for me) only affecting your plugin.
All other plugins are doing what they should be (even if some of their features are not fully working, but that’s *their* plugin’s problem IYSWIM, such as the various Cookie plugins getting grumpy with caches). I can configure them, at least ??

In reply to: [EU Cookie Law for GDPR/CCPA] WP Super Cache make script not workingDoes anyone know of a cookie plugin that a) works and b) works with caches. Deactivating caches or randomly deactivating other plugins that otherwise seem to work and place nicely does not seem a viable solution.

In reply to: [Visitor Analytics and Lead Generation Plugin by Inbound Rocket] MailchimpIt is not “actual” for me so far, but I can see it would be desirable. Any manual export/import things are less desirable. Mail chimp does seem to have a lot of visibility and I am sure other similar services exist (so I guess/hope it an API type call or something).
As I move to make the Mailchimp integration to the site more fixed and then try and maximise the benefits it allegedly will bring, it would be a natural expectation that “Mailchimp”-friendly plugins would get a priority consideration than those where you have to do a lot manually. Just because ??
Noted re the Facebook stuff. We are communicating offline about the access to configuration settings problem as I guess that is stopping me seeing the configuration in question.
Yes, I know it has been “the law” for a while but many have “forgotten”.
There’s a bigger rush now that Google is reminding everyone with the threat of “action” undefined for non compliance.
I further understand that the problem is many “cookie plugins” just don’t work properly (both delivering cookies before the warning and/or not working with caches etc).
It doesn’t help not knowing which plugin can take priority, as it is no good having a cookie warning/opt out/opt in if you’ve (the site) already delivered a lot, upsetting Italian bureaucrats in the process.
So a) decent cookie warning / opt out plugin that works would be desirable by someone and b) confirmation that this plugin can “work” with any opt-outs is good. If you can do both, why not ??

In reply to: [Visitor Analytics and Lead Generation Plugin by Inbound Rocket] Config issueSeems to be affecting all the configuration pages? I even turned off the cache program just in case to no avail.
