Hey @macmanx , Thank you very much for these instructions. What I did, was download my current version of wordpress (not the one I am trying to update to), and manually copied all the files from the current new wordpress into the old wordpress folder just as you said. I did not touch the wp-content directory or wp-config.php file. After that, I tried a wordpress update with WP-CLI (wordpress CLI), and my wordpress Installation updated just fine. So the problem is solved!

But just for future reference, what could have been the cause of this? Did I have a corrupt file or something in my original non-updateable wordpress installation? Let me know so I can try to make it now happen again.

Hey, I believe you are correct in that this is an isolated problem.

On 04/04/24 at 5:42AM I got an email from wordpress that my plugin was autoupdated:

– Email Verification for WooCommerce (from version 2.7.2 to 2.7.3)

On 04/04/24 at 6:42AM I got another email with the exact same error message as in the ORIGINAL POST.

HOWEVER, That is the last occurrence of the error message. It’s been 5 days since that error appeared and no other errors have occurred. So I think it’s safe to say that the error WAS isolated, and also fixed itself.

Hi, The problem with using this plugin is that I use the WordPress iOS app to log in and create posts for my wordpress installation. Since the app is limited, it doesn’t give me the option to hide a featured image while using that plugin. So I need something that automatically hides the featured image from each post without user interaction or a “Hide featured Image” button, that surely won’t appear on the iOS wordpress app.

The closest thing I have found to doing this is the “hide-featured-image-on-all-single-pagepost” plugin. However, that plugin also hides featured images on pages, which I don’t want, since that would delete images of my woocommerce products. I looked over the code for this plugin to see if I can modify it in order to prevent it from hiding featured images on pages, but I had no success.

I think the best solution here would have to be some CSS code that targets featured images on the blog page, or modifying the code from the “Hide-featured-image-on-all-single-pagespost” plugin. Just in case you want to look, I have posted the code from that plugin below. I bet it wouldn’t be too hard for you to modify it to work as I need it to. Below is the plugin code:

I too encountered this problem recently (Just now infact). I just wanted to confirm that it is indeed the wordpress bakery plugin. Their servers are probably down or something. Thanks for pointing this out. Hope

For future reference to anyone else who has this odd problem I solved this using the wordpress command line interface (wp cli).

I ssh’d into my wordpress directory, and first ran:

wp user list

which revealed the two administrators identies and ID’s:

I then ran the following command to delete the corruptAdmin and migrate his posts to the workingAdmin:

wp user delete 2 --reassign=1

Then I recreated the corruptAdmin in the wordpress Web interface and migrated workingAdmin#2 back to corruptAdmin#1 in WP CLI:

wp user delete 1 --reassign=2

Now I can log into wordpress with the corruptAdmin#2 no longer corrupt, and I still have all the same posts authored by that recreated Admin#2 user. Fixed. Hope this helps someone.

How many total photos do you have in your media directory?

I have a total of 678 photos in my media library.

Unfortunately, the WordPress database structure is built in a way that makes post creation slower and slower as more and more posts are created.

I’m technically still in the process of building this site. So honestly don’t have very many posts, just the default posts that are built into the theme.

If you have a “heavy” theme, slower processor, smaller amounts of memory, and/or a not-well-configured MySQL, that slowness can become noticeable with 10-20K records. Even the fastest processors with lots of memory and a well-tuned MySQL will start noticing slowness at around 500K records.

This is great to know. I am running this off of a Raspberry Pi 4. My theme is relatively heavy as well, but when I first installed my theme, uploads worked fine. I guess I need to figure out how to change the wp_ table prefix to what is defined in my wp_config.php and learn how to inspect database tables. Hey t-p @t-p, this was very little help. However, I have made progress in debugging the problem, (Although not yet truly solved). On my self-hosted LEMP server I had to disable the Nginx modsecurity module, and now everything in my wordpress site works. However, this creates a security issue that I would like to quickly fix. Are you familiar with the Nginx modsecurity module at all, and is there any way to create some sort of exceptions for the wordpress iOS app in Nginx’s Modsecurity module? This seems to be where the problem lies.
