In reply to: [Download Monitor] Don’t forget to cancel/ bad customer service‘You admit you were notified one week before the charge’
erm – no – I didn’t get a reminder, just an email that said the money had been taken.
‘I’m curious how you would have proceeded in this case’
I requested a refund, for the unused software which I had mistakenly forgot to cancel. Not sure how you have missed what I was after?
‘It feels that we did everything humanly possible’
I asked for a refund as I wasn’t using it and you said no. Human’s can say yes and issue a refund for things that are not being used, I have dealt with plenty of plugins/ services that have done this.I’m always baffled by reading 1* reviews like this. If you didn’t get your way, it’s considered “bad customer service.”
So, I’m not the first then – maybe we’re on to something?
It’s easy to see just by your public response above that you are not a nice company to deal with. Enjoy the $47 – buy yourself an ice cream.

In reply to: Site Hacks?HI, just an update on this post, I had to go through some 100+ sites on my server updating account passwords, mysql passwords, then re-configure wp-config then update all admin passwords and update all WordPress, themes and plugins across my entire server.
Clients who have 5 year old websites got a free upgrade.
Feels great to have a totally clean and up to date server but it took 4 days to get everything clear and up to date.
I will have to factor wordpress updates into future quotes.

In reply to: Site Hacks?thanks for this, I will read through.
Already contacted my server company, no luck there!
Just worried its a new wordpress hack as the one that was hacked was completely up to date including wp, plugins and themes.
Thanks for your reply Jeremy, I am definitely logged in to wordpress.com as it takes me to the dashboard.
re:
make sure the account is the one you used to connect Jetpack in the first place?
Is there a way to tell which account this ‘original’ one is? I have a generic one I have been using for all my clients blogs and I setup a separate one for my clients use for this blog. I have tried both accounts though and neither seem to work.
cheers

In reply to: Solution to 500 Internal Server Error .htaccess HackedI have had this with a couple of sites, mostly sorted by getting rid of the ‘ss’ from the .htaccess file.
I have a site at the moment though that is going down weekly with this problem and the client is getting very annoyed. Some times its ‘s’ some times ‘ss’ sometimes ‘ess’ and today ‘ress’ I think by the end of the week I might have the whole ‘WordPress’?
A fix for this is much needed.
