In reply to: [ACF: Better Search] WP Dashboard Advertisement BannerSame here. You don’t have to do anything but log in and the message shows up.
Clicking ‘I added review, do not show again’ loads the same (WP Admin) page in a new tab (with
#
appended) and doesn’t get rid of the banner.Same here. Is there any movement on the internal ticket? Will using __DIR__ cause problems?

In reply to: [Category Sticky Post] Sticky Post on Subsequent Archive PagesThanks for your responsiveness, @philiparthurmoore. Your solution is interesting, @peoy, and I need to confirm it’ll work for me, since I thought it was on all the archive pages. Will have to check.
Talking with Tom on email was also productive. I look forward to a release.

In reply to: [Category Sticky Post] Sticky Post on Subsequent Archive PagesA perhaps-related issue is that on
page/2
, but not onpage/3
, I get one less result (in this case, 4 instead of 5), which combined with the hidden post per my fix, above, results in two less. I don’t know of any reason besides the plugin this would happen.Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] possible plugin conflictFine. But it would make your plugin more robust if you weren’t at the mercy of others blowing up the JS for you. (Have no issue with JS anywhere else, btw, or without it. The conflict may be library-/namespace-based.) If you can do it, I hope you do.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] possible plugin conflictAlright. You might consider not making all of your buttons rely on JS in the first place. Perhaps that’s a norm in WP admin interfaces, but it’s not a best practice anywhere else on the web, and this is a perfect example of why. I’m not seeking to penalize your plug-in, just reporting my experience, caveats and all. If I get time, I’ll go through the gamut of reinstalling your plugin, deactivating the others, potentially uninstalling the others, and all of that fun stuff, and revisit the review.
I could have sworn yesterday that it was giving them the ability to deactivate things, but it doesn’t seem so now. So, good!
And thank you. The plugin works as advertised, though I sign on to what one of the other users in the support forum requested, as far as disabling Settings > Sharing (esp. since this is Publicize, isn’t it?). The whole ‘connect to WordPress.com’ thing is a bit confusing, and doesn’t seem clear that it’s only for your personal-level stuff. I wish that was done differently, but it makes much more sense now. Thanks again.

In reply to: [Admins only Jetpack] Can you hide sharing settings?I still get this as well. And here it still prompts them to connect to WordPress.com, which is an issue for me (confusing, and not actually desired for our setup). Would be great to be able to turn off for them.

In reply to: [Admins only Jetpack] Plugin blocks editors from adding media to postsI couldn’t reproduce this bug. Has it been fixed since? (Running 3.5.2.)
(Thanks for the workaround!)

In reply to: [Simple Pull Quote] [Plugin: Simple Pull Quote] Without DuplicatingAh, got it. When you add that feature, I imagine the workaround for posts styled the old way could be difficult. Maybe give us a date before which to use the current version? Anyway, thanks for your work on this plugin!

In reply to: [Simple Pull Quote] [Plugin: Simple Pull Quote] Without DuplicatingYes, the plugin (which works just fine otherwise) seems like it would just grab the highlighted text and make it into a pullquote without also removing it from the running text, but this isn’t so. (I.e.,
[pullquote]this[/pullquote]
would be set as a quote on the right, but would no longer exist in this sentence.)Is this perhaps something that broke in a recent version?
I don’t have this problem (using latest version). If you update and still have the problem, you might look at your CSS, to see if the numbers are being cut off that way.
Hi, this also helped me. It would be great, though, if this was a checkbox option on the widget itself (or if this was in the readme).
A few points about the assumption the widget makes: 1) one person uses each computer (not true for families, colleges, libraries); 2) a submitted request to join the mailing list has been successful (when it is sent but not confirmed, it still disappears). I presume, but have not tested, that #2 also crops up if someone has unsubscribed and then decides to go back to the website to subscribe again.
For the above reasons and for the element of least surprise for developers, it’d be great if non-disappearing were at least a built-in option. Nevertheless, a wonderfully simple plug-in.
