That just looks like the default new post that is displayed with a new blog. You can create/use a plugin to disable/delete the default posting.

Have you created the DB User account?

Looks like you have either a plugin or PHP error in your theme. Try deactivating any plugins and set your theme to TwentyTen.

You can set up WordPress to have a custom Page as the home page instead of displaying blog posts under Options->Reading

@ipstenu – the old .htaccess is identical to what’s posted up there, except that RewriteBase was set to /blogs/.

Also, I think I’ve been going about it all wrong. I can’t have a static subdomain with a subfolder as the username. The subdomain has to be the username.

This is what I wanted but won’t work:

but this is what it has to be:
https://USERNAME1.domain.com/
https://USERNAME2.domain.com/
https://USERNAME3.domain.com/

That’s going to cause major issues because our usernames have periods in them ??

It seems that this is most likely a .htaccess problem, but I’m reeeeeaaaally inexperienced with regex and redirects.

Also when I go to any blog via https://blogs.domain.tld/username/, it seems that the_loop doesn’t find any posts, but I assure you the blog has posts.

With regards to the search/replace method: Any tips on doing that in a 7+GB database?

Zooph – I had to upgrade from WPMu 1.3.1 to WPMu 2.8.2 to WP3.1 and I absolutely had to upgrade incrementally. On the initial try, everything broke.

If you want to keep any uploaded images/videos, plugins, or themes, make sure to backup or save the wp-content folder.

It is dependent on how the theme places banners. If the theme supports custom headers, you should have an option under Appearance->Header. You just click that link and upload the image. The theme should handle everything after that.

If you log into your site, go to the admin panel, select Settings->Reading, you will see an option to select what the front page displays.

I’m confused. WordPress uses a single database. All users are in the wp_users table. Are you saying that the wp_users table is empty? If so, you’d need to get a restoral from your webhost.
