I know you’re supposed to hover your mouse over the bottom right of your post and watch for the NextGEN Gallery icon to show up and click it to add the gallery. I’m way past that, and can add galleries successfully.

What I’m saying for those of you who can’t understand my first post, is that when I view the POST itself, it is blank. All I need to show is the gallery itself inside the post, without having to click the Post title. I don’t need any other text in the posted article.

Sorry if there was any confusion.

It’s strange, I set the value to “0.5” and it shows only the current track playing!

I’m glad you like my idea! Is it a programming nightmare or is it a fairly simple widget to create? I know nothing about programming.

When I change the number to 0, it shows the current track and 5 last played tracks as well.

Steve, any chance you could review the “Recently Played” widget which I’ve used but called it “Now Playing”, and set the number to 1, but 2 songs show up, the one playing and the one last played. Could you remove the last song played unless the person selects more than one song?

My SAM Broadcaster Host IP Address is my external (web) IP address.

My SAM Database Host IP address is my internal 192.x.x.x IP address.

On your internal address where you have SAM and MySQL installed (assuming you have both of them installed on the same server), be sure to log into your router and allow these ports:

    80 for http web traffic
8000 for the Shoutcast DNAS server management assuming you’re using Shoutcast)
    3306 for MySQL
1221 for requests if you are going to be accepting requests

If you’ve done that correctly, go to https://localhost:8000 (or https://192.x.x.x:8000, the IP address of your internal sever), and you should see a Shoutcast DNAS management page. Here, click the Create Authhash link to generate your server key and it will be written to your sc_serv.conf file. This is the only way you will be able to broadcst to services like shoutcast.com and audiorealm.com, and to make your site available on the Internet.

I found this too at first install of the plugin.

    1. Make sure you have MySQL on your server installed and create a new SAM user with read-access to your SAM database. Don’t use “root”, otherwise you’ll get an error message saying you have to create another user.

    2. In your WordPress “Settings” select the NGS SAM Integrator plugin settings and ensure your database configuration is properly defined.

    3. Add widgets to your page. They are “Recently played”, “Coming Up”, “Requests” which contains your playlist and “Top Requests” which is a list of those songs which your viewers have requested.

    4. Ensure the first page of your WordPress page is one of the pages that was automatically generated when you installed the plugin.

These few tips should get you going. Let me know if you have any other problems. I’ll see what I can do to help.

Thanks Steve, I actually got it working! See, I have a Linux box too and I mistakenly created the database user on the Linux box rather than on the Windows box. I don’t quite understand what you’re getting at with the Permalinks… so I’ll leave that alone for now. The site is up and running and working like a charm. I have been fiddling with the theme for the last couple of hours and I’m finally nearing one that I like that provides me with all the necessary places to place widgets and pages. Give it a try! (Link above)

I have a number of suggestions for you though… would you like them here (in a separate post) or in a private email? For example, for “Now Playing” could you have a new widget created so that it only shows 1 song in the queue and not the currently playing song plus the upcoming one? Many more ideas… I may keep you busy!!! ??

    Cheers,
    Dan

Aaarrrg… I even set up a new WP page here:

    https://www.dansmith.ca/weather

When I use the code from Include-It, it comes through as HTML text in my sidebar…

HTTP includes don’t work, php includes don’t work…

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

The problem is that with the weather software I’m using, you create all of the text in a file called an .HTX file with your coding for temperature, dew point, humidity CODES, then tell it to convert this file with the codes into an .HTML file with all of the codes translated into numbers. If I were to insert the generated .HTML file into the sidebar, I’d have to convert the whole WordPress page into .HTML, would I not? My weather station software wouldn’t know what to do with WordPress page.
