In reply to: Existing WP blog inside a new WP site?Basically, I wanted to keep my blog content separate from my site content while still sharing the same custom child theme I am building. Although, I guess I don’t necessarily need to keep my content separate. If not, can you direct me to some instructions on transferring my existing blog content over to my new WordPress site?

In reply to: Existing WP blog inside a new WP site?Well, I guess I would love to have the archives and categories of the existing blog, while still having it comply with the theme and the css of the new site I’m building. I want the blog to look like it belongs to the parent site, but I guess I would like to keep the blog content on its own, if that makes sense.
I’m not sure if that requires two blogs or multisite.

In reply to: [CataBlog] Centering Catablog images in the catablog-catalog divNo worries, through trial and error I figured it out myself.
Thanks!
I will just mention that I have been working with WP Orbit Slider given it’s responsive capabilities and so far have been very pleased. Just need to figure out how to code for transitions on click like NGG does, but I might recommend trying it out.
Thanks. Sadly, I’m working locally so there’s no url to share and am still having difficulty. I’ve got the code tweaked for my slideshow, but I’m still unclear as to what exact page it needs to go on the bottom of. I tried applying it to the the bottom of footer.php in my child theme right before </body>, but got nothing. I’ve also tried to paste it into header.php as well.
I am using Responsive theme ver. 1.7.4
Any insight? Thanks again!
Did anyone ever successfully figure out the exact location that this script needs to be written into? Trying to figure it out myself by process of elimination and I’m not getting anywhere.

In reply to: Having troubel creating a specific vision of a gallery.Yes, I am going to try and make a php file that contains all my thumbnails that I could then drop into every gallery page underneath the slideshow so I only have to change one file when the portfolio changes.
Now how to make that php… Or maybe a custom widget?

In reply to: Having troubel creating a specific vision of a gallery.Hello, Emil! You are the most helpful man on WordPress. (You answered some questions for me on the Responsive forum too.) These are good but I’m still having trouble figuring out to build the gallery without employing a lightbox. Here is an exact example (sans-sidebar) of what I’m looking to do: https://www.abriefhistoryof.info/, clickable thumbnails that reveal a slideshow gallery on the top of the page
Given the change of the address bar when clicking on each gallery item it looks like the site is actually built with a different page for each gallery item and the thumbnails collected below on each page. I would do this and just build a multi-page portfolio with slideshows on top, and linked thumbnail images on the bottom, but that just doesn’t seem like best practice.
Thoughts?
Thanks so much for your generosity and help!-Dan
