That is probably a little more advanced than I should be trusted with at this point ?? But it occurs to me that I could achieve nearly the same effect by allowing certain widgets to show up or not show up based on the post category.

I’m using GeneratePress and Elementor with the most recent version of WordPress. All my plugins are updated except for Elementor, which I have on 1.2.4.

I’d like to know this too. If I could move Facebook comments to below the tags and WP-hosted comments, I’d be thrilled. As of now, I’m tempted to deactivate.

Thanks! I realized after I posted this that I was confusing the excerpt view with the regular view using “Read More” cutaways. I use the latter on some other blogs and the photos always show, which was why I didn’t understand why they didn’t here. But now I get it!

The issue has disappeared. I am using Elementor — maybe it was interfering with something? Elementor updated today and I have no problems with the CSS needing to be repasted now.

Thanks Tom! I made this change this morning and it worked great!

The only quirk is that when I go into the customize panel to work on something else (font size, etc.), the header goes back to looking like it’s inside a white box even though the CSS hasn’t changed. I found that deleting the CSS and repasting it makes it work again. Maybe that’s a weird WordPress thing?
