In reply to: Close all commentsAndrea,
Thank you. I tried that one but it doesn’t seem to like WP 2.01.
Vaam,
That only seems to work for new posts from the time you make the change.

In reply to: Why Isn’t The Search Feature Working On This Forum?!?I don’t know why but this one works fine:
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Akismet: currently 28 comments …That sounds reasonable. Thank you.

In reply to: cookies for commentsYes, I think it’s partly browser-related. I played around with various things yesterday and IE and Firefox are now ‘remembering’ user details. However, nothing I do will get Opera to ‘remember’.
I also re-uploaded some of the base files such as wp-comments-post.php. Whether or not this fixed the problem, I don’t know.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Line breaks in postsHi Moshu,
In my last post on my site, I have actually put in white periods after the bottom line with words to create the blank lines. In the second last post, I don’t always like the way the last written line sits just above the Posted by line.
Thanks to both of you and will learn a little more about CSS and in the meantime I will use the non-breaking line.
Cheers.

In reply to: Search Forum Now Using Google. Why?Having the both options would surely be the best solution as long as didn’t cause server overloads.

In reply to: Search Forum Now Using Google. Why?Well, it was. ?? But the Google method isn’t much better, perhaps worse.
Probably not the place to mention it but email notification of replies to topics we start or post to, as most other forums do, would be fantastic!!
( I don’t know the history of this forum style so I apologise if I am stepping on someone’s toes. PHPBB is just so much better.)

In reply to: MySQL Database Restore ErrorI have had a similar problem and I think it’s something to do with phpmyadmin and/or mysql.
In my case removing the following lines from the db backup has always fixed the problem:
# phpMyAdmin SQL Dump
# version 2.5.2-pl1
# https://www.phpmyadmin.net
#
# Host: localhost
# Generation Time: May 22, 2005 at 04:06 PM
# Server version: 4.1.11
# PHP Version: 4.3.6
#
# Database :wrdp2
#
USE wrdp2;# ——————————————————–
I don’t know much about these things but I think it’s to do with that USE line and the way you instruct phpmyadmin to restore: you actually have to click on the db name and then restore.

In reply to: Favatar-Revised Plugin ReleasedThanks for your reply.
It’s stopped working on my two sites after the upgrade. Guess it’s back to more investigation.
