Thank you for getting back to us and we apologize for the delay.
From our tests, it appears that the issue is actually related to the email client.
For example, when using the new Outlook email client it displays correctly (https://a.supportally.com/i/bpAZ4u). When we switched back to the old mailer the icon broke (https://a.supportally.com/i/0MIiOm).
Even when simply writing an email from one end and sending it over, the icon still breaks on the old Outlook client.?https://a.supportally.com/i/M5qaFI

In reply to: [WP Mail Logging] Attachments not showing in logsHey @expiorer
That is correct, email attachments that aren’t within the body should alternatively be saved in the WordPress
/wp-content/uploads
folder to be logged correctly.Depending on what plugin you used to send the email, they are most likely storing attachments in a different location.

Thank you for getting back to us and we apologize for the delay.
As mentioned in our documentation and this blog post, in order to use multiple From Email addresses when connecting to the Google mailer, you will need to set up aliases, so you will not need to utilize custom code.
Hi @mistersippi
Thank you for sharing your feedback, but it seems there is a misunderstanding.
We by no means send spam, what you are referring to is our newsletter which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
If you’d like to update your email preferences/unsubscribe, you can do so by clicking on either the “Stop emails“, “Update subscriptions” or “Unsubscribe” options at the bottom of the newsletter email.
Our newsletter will only be sent out if it was opted into or you have purchased a Pro license.
The only other email that gets sent out is our weekly email summaries which can also be disabled via WP Mail SMTP>Settings>Misc as described here.
I hope that helps!
Hi @tkeridun
We are sorry to hear that you were not able to get WP Mail SMTP working.
We honestly strive to make the setup process as straightforward as possible by implementing a?Setup Wizard?and by providing links to our?detailed?documentation?for setting up each mailer.
We would have been more than happy to assist you in getting WP Mail SMTP up and running on your end. Please know that you can use the WP Mail SMTP support forum where we provide limited complimentary support. That would be the ideal location to share details of any issues or clarifications you might need.
If you do decide to give WP Mail SMTP another chance, we do hope to hear from you in the forums.
Thank you.
Hi @neallos
That certainly is strange.
Please note that the error message is being returned from the SMTP server you’re connecting to.
550 Bad HELO
For some context into the error message, please check this article:?https://bobcares.com/blog/550-rejected-bad-helo-host-impersonating/
What we recommend doing is contacting your web hosting and sending over the debug information, as well as the link to the Bobcares.com article. This way they can take a look at the server to determine why it’s reporting that error message when you try to connect.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions, could you please let me know?
Thanks! ??
Hi @heijtec2
Thank you, I’ll keep an eye out for your next response.
Hi @webgap
No worries, we’re just happy to know that you were able to confirm the issue and should be able to start sending emails reliably ??
Hi @webgap
Thanks for getting back to us.
That certainly is strange.
- Just to confirm, are you using the latest version of WordPress, WP Mail SMTP, your other plugins and theme?
- Also, what other plugins do you currently have active?
- Please try switching to a different mailer, click “save settings” switch back to the Google mailer, then click “save settings”.
- Have you tried using a different mailer to see if you run into any issues? As a test, you can try using the SendLayer (free trial) or Brevo mailers (free tier).
Hi @heijtec2
Thanks for getting back to us.
Please note that so far you have only used the default PHP sending method and then only tried one SMTP server.
To determine if the issue is related to other aspects of your website and not just the mail.xxx.nl SMTP server, you would need to test other mailers (aka SMTP servers) to see if the issue is reproducible.
Hi @paaljoachim
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
We are sorry to hear that you’d prefer that the?weekly email summary?be disabled by default, though we can understand your scenario and apologize for the inconvenience.
Currently, we do not have plans to disable email summaries by default. The main reason why it is enabled by default is that WP Mail SMTP is designed to improve email sending and just to ensure that users are aware of their total email sending since WP Mail SMTP was activated, our weekly summaries give a clear indicator.
Again, we understand your scenario, and we apologize for the inconvenience, but the main workaround right now is to disable email summaries after installing WP Mail SMTP. Please note that this email should only be sent out once (per website) and we ensured that disabling this is as straightforward as possible in case users either were tracking this via alternate means or if they no longer would like to track this.
Thanks for reaching out and we’re sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the Force From Email feature.
So that we can determine the reason why this is happening.
What mailer are you using and how did you test email sending to confirm that the Force From Email feature wasn’t working?
Test Emails can be sent via WP Mail SMTP. Did you see the wrong From Email Address when doing so?
Please note that other plugins with a similar feature can overwrite our Force From Email feature, so we’d recommend double checking to see if your other plugins/theme are overwriting it.
Hi @heijtec2
Thanks for reaching out.
Please note that the message you shared is being returned from the SMTP server you are connecting to, so the issue would have needed to be addressed from the SMTP service’s end.
I assume you are using the Other SMTP mailer. Since this is a persistent issue, to confirm if this is indeed only related to that specific SMTP server, you can try using a different SMTP service.
We have a list of all our mailers here. For testing purposes, you can consider using SendLayer (free trial), Brevo (free tier) or the Google mailer (free).
