In reply to: Tags Dont LinkDustin,
Tags are used by search engines such as Google for indexing your site.
Here’s an example:
One article in the blog I created for a friend, Angry White Male, mentioned “Tavis Smiley.” One of the tags for that blog article was “Tavis Smiley.” Within minutes of the article being published, someone used “Tavis Smiley” as a search term, and found the article.

In reply to: Individual posts not showing up in google search resultsI just took a look at the HTML code for your blog.
These are the only keywords I saw:
<meta name="keywords" content="stock photos, images, photographer" />
You have extremely few categories and tags after each blog post. Google can’t index your blog posts if you don’t include keywords in the HTML code or in the tags after each post.
If you know how to write HTML code, I can tell you an additional way to enter keywords so that Google and other search engines can find your site.

Thanks for your advice. I used the Twenty Ten Theme. None of the provded header graphics were appropriate for the site. I searched online and found a US flag banner that was exactly the size I needed. I’ll see what else I can find.

In reply to: Marketing Ads & SeoChinmoy,
I just went to your site. The overall design is OK, although I don’t particularly like the background color of your page header.
The pages displayed but, unfortunately, there were php syntax errors on them.
Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB6.6; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.2; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Timestamp: Tue, 14 Dec 2010 14:46:36 UTC Message: Syntax error Line: 4 Char: 12 Code: 0 URI: https://www.marketingadsandseo.com/wp-content/plugins/testimonials/js/testimonials.js.php?ver=2.1
Also, there were several broken links (to images, I believe) on your “sell ad/seo” page.
And, the site contains misspelled words. One example is
If anoybody use twenty ten kind of theme then they will go to loop.php file and replace the code <?php if(is_archive() || is_search()): ?> to <?php if(is_search()): ?>.
You might want to use a spell checker before you post your pages.
Please post another message after you make the corrections, and I’ll take another look at your site.

In reply to: Dropdown Navigation works in Chrome, Safari, and FF, but not IEI just looked at the site in IE8.
I wish I had time to look at your HTML code. Unfortunately, I’m on my way to a meeting.
One suggestion: Look at the code that defines the horizontal nav bar. When hovering over the second nav item, the third nav item “About Us” appears, but it’s misaligned.
Rather than use a more formal type of HTML validator, if you have access to Dreamweaver, paste your code there and try to validate it. The Dreamweaver validator is quite good.

In reply to: How To Keep Text Away From ImagesJohn,
You need to look at the HTML code for the post in question and edit the portion of the code that places the image and the text that follows.
I’ve inserted images in some of the posts for the blog I created for a friend, Angry White Male.
I didn’t edit the style sheet. I edited the post’s HTML code.

In reply to: WordPress 3.0.3 adds div before /body tagcpkid2,
Can you please explain what your concern is?
It’s very confusing when part of your problem / question / concern is in the title of your post and part is in the message.
It would be helpful if you included the part of the HTML code that had the body tag in it.
It would also be helpful if you provided the URL of your site.

In reply to: Auto updated problems after upgrade 3.0.2 / 3.0.3Did you try upgrading automatically to 3.0.3 before you upgraded the plugins?
I upgraded automatically to 3.0.3, and after that I upgraded Akismet. The Akismet upgrade was to make it compatible with 3.0.3, so I thought I should upgrade to 3.0.3 before I did anything else.

In reply to: Update to 3.0.3jbenowl16,
Are you referring to the dashboard update page?
If you are, did you read the words on the page?
I did the automatic update to 3.0.3 a few minutes ago. I didn’t see anything happening, but the words on the update page changed. There was a notification that the update had been completed.
