To recap:
Another user created a private group with a group forum and a group event. I am not a member of this private group.
The private group is listed in the general Group listing. Clicking into the private group will not reveal details because I am not a group member.

The private group event is listed in the general Events listing. Clicking into the private group event will reveal details and also allow booking even though I am not a group member.
Thanks

I’m using:
Events Manager ver 5.6.2
BuddyPress ver 2.5.1
WordPress ver 4.4.2 with multisite enabled
Theme is WP’s own Twenty Sixteen
wp-config’s WP_DEBUG = TRUE or FALSE does not report any issuesThanks

In reply to: How to make new user default role = subscriberI’m starting out but have you checked the setting for your multisite?
Login as network admin, goto dashboard->Sites.
Select an appropriate site and click the “Settings” tab. Then look for the setting for default role. If not what you want then change it to “subscriber” (use lowercase as that’s what WP recognises) and save it.
Does this help?

In reply to: you are using an insecure browserA quick reply here but I believe for my case it’s simply due to the WP being hosted on a Intranet where IE is configured to display using document mode 7 for Intranet sites. Removing Compatibility mode will render the site appropriately.
Perhaps the WP notice could have suggested this possibility. That would be awesome.
On the side I don’t know whether WP can include the relevant meta tag so that Compatibility mode IE setting remains?
