Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress installation subdirectoriesI have done it once before but for the life of me can’t remember how I did it. I think it was something to do with HTACCESS
There’s lots of articles about moving wordpress installations, installing them in the root and then transfering them to a subdirectory, multi sites using a single database.
Though nothing about having multiple wordpress installations in subdirectories each having its own domain and with the subdirectories not showing up in the domain when loaded in a browser.
Pretty simple really but I am yet to re-learn how to do it?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress installation subdirectoriesI have allready installed wordpress in a subdirectory so I don’t want to move it anywhere.
I just don’t want the subdirectory to show in the URL.
The wordpress has already been installed in https://emotionmarketng.com.au/emotion/
I just want to get rid of the ?emotion/ at the end of the URL and leave the wordpress installation where it is in the subdirectory.

In reply to: [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Problem Writing FileThis is a really stupid problem to have. What can be the cause to the problem is that your XML plugin is trying to write to the wrong directory.
In this case you have to check custom location for your sitemap and put in the absolute path to your sitemap which looks something like this
/home/”accountname”/public_html/sitemap.xml
and then the complete URL of the sitemap below it such as
https://www.yourhostingserverdomain.com/sitemap.xml
You would think the person who created the plugin would have this info readily available.

In reply to: [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] I cant generate sitemapThis is a really stupid problem to have, it seems that most people that are having this problem is because they have sub-directories with a number of wordpress blogs.
‘Interested Mind’ I think you have the right idea as the “automatic Detection’ pretty much sucks and doesn’t look to where the site map is or should be so ppl will need to create a custom location to where the sitemap really should be located.https://bluefoxmarketing.org/images/site_map_error.png
The problem is finding and knowing the exact directory to point to or at least knowing what custom location to point to for the sitemap?
