I tried that — I deactivated the other plugins, but still wasn’t having luck with the images. I think I’ll set it aside for now. Maybe try again later. That sometimes does the trick.

Hi Rene,
I tried the suggested Twenty Sixteen theme, but after making it active, I added a new image to my library, and it does the same thing. It loads the image, but just shows a “?” in place of the thumbnail.

Thanks so much for looking into this for me! I really appreciate it. I didn’t think about it being a theme issue. I will switch to the twentysixteen theme, and try it again.

Hi Rene,
Thanks for taking a look! From what I can tell, I need to fix the permalink (so that new images will show) by doing this: “create a custom .htaccess for apache webserver or adjust the nginx.conf.” Can you let me know if I’m on the right track and/or if there’s an easier way for me to remedy? I’m not sure I have the tech skills to make those changes…
