In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Unable to cancel Akismet accountThanks for confirming you already sent in a request. The support team will be better able to help with this as it will require transactional information that we wouldn’t share on a public forum.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Can’t add it to my websiteHey there! That is a general error in WordPress that could be caused by any number of items.
Reach out to your hosting provider and ask them for your site’s server error logs from around the time you were trying to configure Akismet. It should highlight the problem, which could be incorrect server file permissions, conflict with server-level security, errors in your server, or corrupted files. They should also be able to fix the issue.
Let us know if you still have trouble!
Thanks!

In reply to: [Mayland (Blocks)] How do you disable mobile view in this themeHi there!
This specific theme does not have a “mobile view” – it’s a responsive theme that doesn’t require a mobile version.
I also don’t see a “button” when viewing your site via mobile – did you have another plugin installed that may have been adding a mobile view for you? Some plugins (like AMP, etc) will create a mobile view, so check your other plugins first to ensure that’s not the cause.
If you still have trouble, please create and link to a screenshot of the button in question and we’ll take a closer look.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] WP – Admin page issueHello!
Akismet does not protect WordPress site registration forms, but most websites don’t need to open registration.
If you don’t need registration on your site, you can turn off the “anyone can register” option checked in your Settings -> General for “Membership” and delete any accounts you don’t recognize under Users -> All Users.
We’ll consider protecting registration forms in future updates

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Sneaky payment requiredAkismet has both free and paid subscriptions. However, free keys are for personal, non-commercial sites only – no exceptions. That’s how it’s been for over a decade.
If your site has advertising or affiliate links, sells products or services, solicits donations or sponsorships, or is in any way related to a business or educational organization – your site is considered commercial. Per our documentation and Terms of Service, we can suspend sites for noncompliance with those terms.

– https://akismet.com/tos/Qualified nonprofit organizations can also use Akismet for free. We need the official documentation showing your nonprofit status and we will help you get set up with your own API key.
If you feel your site would qualify for a free key, please reach out to our support team and they can help you with that: https://akismet.com/contact/
I hope that clarifies things!
Hi there:
Akismet does not protect against that specific type of problem, unfortunately.
WooCommerce does sell an anti-fraud extension designed to protect against the problem you describe, but it would only work if you use WooCommerce for your store: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-anti-fraud/
Without knowing what eCommerce software you use for your store, it’s hard to recommend a specific solution, but I’m sure other organizations offer something similar to combat this problem.
Marking as resolved as this isn’t something we offer.
I hope that clarifies things!
@akiraanastasia – That has always been our policy.
However, with a large number of accounts using free keys on commercial sites, we’ve recently started enforcing that policy. If your site has advertising or affiliate links, sells products or services, solicits donations or sponsorships, or is in any way related to a business or educational organization – your site is considered commercial. Per our documentation and Terms of Service, we can suspend sites for noncompliance with those terms.
– https://akismet.com/tos/If you like, you can give us your site URL and we can more accurately advise why your site was flagged as commercial.
I hope that clarifies things.

In reply to: [Pique] Don’t have logo optionThat’s where it should be. Could you first try uninstalling and reinstalling the theme to see if that sort it out?
If that doesn’t fix it, check your installed plugins and disable any that may affect the Customizer or image selection.
Let us know if you still have trouble (and let us know your site URL so we can take a look)! Thanks!

In reply to: [Rebalance] Social Media iconHi there!
Medium is not one of the included social media icons in this theme. You can see what icons are included here:

In reply to: [Rebalance] Content not showing up properlyIt looks like something on those category archive pages (that you have set as your menu items) might be misconfigured because it’s redirecting all post links to the category archive page.
For example, this URL taken from your site’s RSS feed should take you to a post titled “Decoding Microcopy: The Complete Guide”:
https://padmavatigopalan.com/?p=1034
Instead of showing that post, it redirects to:
https://padmavatigopalan.com/blog/
You should check any installed plugins to see if you’re setting any redirects and either change the redirect rules or disable the plugin to get that to work properly.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Span not caughtLooking at Forminator’s documentation here:
https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/
…it looks like they have a mechanism to mark items as spam. If you’re not able to find it, I would recommend reaching out to their support to see how to do so.
I hope that helps!

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] is it useful for WoocommerceHi there!
Yes, Akismet will check WooCommerce Reviews for spam as long as there’s no ReCAPTCHA added to the review form.
I hope that helps!

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Span not caughtSpammers are always working to find new ways to get around our spam filtering. Akismet is always learning so if you come across a piece of spam that Akismet misses marking it as spam will help Akismet learn and not miss similar spam in the future.
Checking your site we have not received any missed spam reports from you, so please mark those items as spam so the system can learn and adapt.
