This may work. I resubmitted my validation to GSC.

I also tried the partial URLs after taking the steps in that article and they are now redirecting to a 404 (as they should).

I’m having the same issue.

Hey Cory @corylamleorg, thank you for your reply.

Upon installing on my web host, everything worked just fine. However, still on my local machine I am redirected to localhost:8888.

I don’t see where to access my htaccess or httpd.config files. I’m developing the site locally using XAMPP as a localhost. Perhaps there aren’t any locally in my htdocs folder.

I also tried running the duplicator after successfully installing on my web host and bringing the archive and installer back down to my localhost and still upon completing the installation it still behaves the same – redirecting to :8888

Still stumped. =[
