In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] JetEngine Media/Gallery field compatibilityHi @tfrank77,
I wrote to technical support, but I never got a reply, maybe they reply only to they users. Can you try to open a ticket, asking them to add compatibility with Phoenix Media Rename? It would be easy because Phoenix Media Rename notify other plugins when a file is renamed (https://www.eurosoftlab.com/en/phoenix-media-rename/#third-party).

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] JetEngine Media/Gallery field compatibilityI’m sorry, but a test environment would be useful only to test the combability, to develop the patch I need a local installation and the documentation of JetEngine.
I’ll contact JetEngine developer to ask if they provide a developer license (as manu plugins do) or if they could fix the issue on their side: Phoenix Media Rename notifies other plugins when a file is renamed, so it would be easy for them to add the compatibility.

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] Post dates are also changingHi @asjad492,
I just released version 3.11.7 that changes how the posts to be updated are selected, can you tell me if the issue with post that doesn’t contains renamed images persists?Thank you

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] Post dates are also changingHi @asjad492,
I’ve made a few tests to prevent the post date being updated, but wp_update_post changes the value of post_modified and post_modified_gmt internally and doesn’t seems to exist a way to prevent the update, event trying to force an explicit value for these fields doesn’t work.Feel free to suggest solutions if you have some idea ??
Now I’m trying to address the issue of changing unnecessary posts, I’ll let you know as soon as it will be fixed.

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] thumbnails deletion issueI don’t know any plugin able to delete unneeded files, but there are likely to be reliable ones.
Automatically detect unneeded files is tricky, because other than WordPress managed files (who are easy to find) there can be files generated by plugins using custom systems, that can be missed by the plugin, causing the deletion of some useful file.

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] thumbnails deletion issueThe deletion process is automatic and involves only the renamed images, so you don’t risk losing other files.
There was an issue that caused some file to fail to delete, but the plugin delete only the renamed file and his thumbnails and only if the new file has been correctly generated.

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] thumbnails deletion issueYes: Phoenix Media Rename generates a new image using the new filename, then deletes the old one, this is slower than renaming the file but renaming directly the file can cause issues on some server.

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] thumbnails deletion issueHi @n381,
the issues reported by @ripper33rus was that Phoenix Media Rename didn’t delete the old thumbnails after renaming a file, leaving them on server. When you rename a file using Phoenix Media Rename, the old thumbnails are deleted and a new set of thumbnails is generated to reflect the new filename, al posts using the image are updated to reflect the new name.
