In reply to: What do these words mean? Help!Jitterbug? A kind of dance they did around wartime, as in “we did the jitterbug”
Boogie – dance, as in “to have a boogie”
Paradiddle – a type of movement used in drumming
Jive – dance
Flim flam tap – more drumming movementsI’m intrigued as to why you want to know all this though!

In reply to: Photo BlogsI’m with Kaknu on this one. I tried Gallery and it was horrendously bloated. Gallery was like trying to crack a nut with a nuclear bomb.
I then tried Lazy Gallery, which was quite nice, but if I remember correctly it didn’t have database capabilities, so no comments. And I don’t think you could put captions in it either.
Plogger’s definitely my favourite and you can customise it quite a lot. My only gripe is that I can only get it to work with my default WordPress theme and none of my other themes, but seemingly the latest version of Plogger (due out in the next couple of months) will sort this out.
You can drop thumbnails into WordPress posts so when the reader clicks on the thumbnail to enlarge it, it goes directly to the Plogger photo page, which is integrated into your main theme. So, in effect, you never have to leave your “branding”, as it were.
Plogger is really, really easy to set up, use, and customise, and the guys in the support forums are dead helpful too. I think it’s brilliant!

In reply to: Webpage link to open inside WordPressOr you could use Plogger for your photo gallery.
I’ve used it here: https://www.croila.net/plogger/
(Only trouble is, mine doens’t work in Internet Explorer because I’ve got a bit of a weird theme that integrates weirdly with Plogger. However, I’ve got corporate installations of WordPress and Plogger that go absolutely fine together.)

In reply to: Is backfilling possible? When you edit (or indeed write new) posts, there’s a box on the right-hand side of the sedit creen called “post status”. Click on the wee minus sign to expand this box, then just tick the “edit timestamp” checkbox, and go ahead and alter your date.
Hope this helps ??

In reply to: upload option (wordpress 2)There was a thread on this very subject a day or two ago. I downloaded a good plugin here: https://www.ilfilosofo.com/blog/old-style-upload/
It gives you the old upload options page back, the one that used to be in WP1.5.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: Can Contributors be emailed when a new blog is posted?I use this plugin: https://www.skippy.net/blog/2005/02/17/subscribe2/
It works beautifully and has customisable output – I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

In reply to: Making WP as Home Page/index.php in Joomla“but, found WP ALOT BETTER AND EASIER TO USE!! Rather then JOOMLA”
I totally agree! I tried Joomla, but compared to WP it’s really awkward. Didni’t like it all so went back to WP, and never regretted it for a moment. I couldn’t see one advantage Joomla has over WP!

In reply to: Plogger integration and PagesJoostB, I’ve never done anything with redirectify, but I did notice that when I changed from WP1.5 to 2.0, I had this “Ok, the document has moved” problem. The culprit turned out to be an old version of the Themeswitcher plugin that I was still using. I got the latest version of the plugin, and it was fine.
This may not be relevant to your problem, but nevertheless it might be an idea to make sure you have the most up-to-date versions of all your plugins?
Just a thought…
https://www.plogger.org – it’s brilliant! You can integrate it into your WordPress stuff by following instructions at https://www.phoenixrealm.com/2005/09/22/integrating-plogger/? . It’s pretty straightforward, and provided you don’t need all sorts of different contributors to the gallery (ie, you’re the only one), Plogger’s absolutely great.

In reply to: Plogger integration and PagesJoost, have you looked on the Plogger forum?
I run Plogger and on my sidebar I’ve just got a simple link to the plogger/index.php gallery page – I didn’t create a page in WordPress and have it redirect or anything.
Have you followed the integration instructions at https://www.phoenixrealm.com/2005/09/22/integrating-plogger/?
If not, it’s a really good tutorial which explains it all.Hope you get the problem sorted soon!

In reply to: Stat Counter?1&1 provides fairly comprehensive logs, though. Maybe you should have a wee look at them? You can usually access them at https://www.yourdomain.com/logs/ , then you stick in your 1&1 account name and password.
They’re not the easiest to interpret right enough, but still worth checking out.

In reply to: image breaking into next postAfter I’ve finished writing the text, I just put in:
<div class="clearer">& n b s p ;</div>
(close up the spaces between “& n b s p ;” in order to make a non-breaking space)
Just put this line in as many times as you need in order for the photo not to drop down into the next post.
Works grand in Firefox for me.

In reply to: Theme Switcher in WP 2If you follow the advice on this thread here, it will fix it all for you. I was getting the exactly the same problem but when I got the latest version of the plugin, it solved it perfectly.
