    RC1 means what?

I know most softwares there is alpha version, beta version, and final release (sometimes more than one of the first two)…

so he is charging to INSTALL things? big woopie dee doo daa, I used to have certain forum software and I didn’t want to install it as I wasn’t 100% commfortable (at that time), I paid someone else to install it, now I install things (the irony), I don’t charge for the wordpress (or whatever main software I am installing), or wp (or the main software’s) plugins/themes/mods, etc… I charge for the installation, some people are not comfortable with it, my conditions are: 1) you have to have the software downloaded and have the minimum requirements for that software(s) 2) pay my hourly rate 2) thank me at the end.

miklb – that is what I was asking, I guess I put it wrong. thank you / merci

shane1829 look at some of the php files, on the very top there is a wordpress copyright thing, GPL, which WP is released under say that you can’t remove that, but the POWERED BY…. at the bottom (the footer) which everyone going to your wp blog in your site will see, you CAN technically remove, it is GPL licence, but if you love WP, and since it is free, why not leave it there? like I said above, I put a Credits links to put all credits in one location.

a lot of servers don’t like spaces, prettyinpink

there are two kinds of copyrights, at the bottom (the footer) and on almost every file (I haven’t checked EVERY file) inside them on the top…

    How software works under GPL:

You legally CAN remove completely the footer part (like everyone will see when visiting your blog), but the actual copyright INSIDE each php file HAS TO BE KEPT…

But if you like WP, why not just keep the link, all you have to do is add target=”_blank” to the link so it opens on a new window…afterall WP IS free…I have removed the copyright at the footer but since I have forums, games, etc… different section of my site… so what I do is put a link at the bottom of my forums/games/etc… sections like this:

    (C) 1990-2005 <my name> All rights Reserved
    Credits

Where Credits is links to the https://www.mydomain.com/credits.html which has the credits to all the suppliers/programmers, including WP.
