The secret to a successful upgrade to 2.5 with the K2 theme is to uninstall K2 and revert to WordPress default theme before upgrading.
I didn’t delete the wp-content folder just the widgets folder inside it as advised in the upgrade instructions because “The Sidebar Widgets code conflicts with the built-in widget ability”. Should I try reinstalling the widgets folder?

In reply to: Problems with Coolplayer – anyone else?Coolplayer is still operational, it’s just that the RPC server that it uses goes down from time to time. For more reliable performance it’s best to install the RPC server on your own web server. See here for more info:

In reply to: Can’t get Coolplayer to workYes, that’s the path I used to the RPC server. It started to work again for a brief period this morning, but now it’s not.

In reply to: Can’t get Coolplayer to workHi – yes I’m having problems too with Coolplayer, I’ve posted about it as well (a few posts earlier). I’ve been using it no problem for a month or two, but it suddenly stopped functioning yesterday. There seems to be a problem with the plugin provider https://www.coolcode.cn – when I test the Coolplayer plugin in Dashboard Options it reports: RPC Server is invalid.
