In reply to: [Woocommerce CSV importer] issues with importI think if you read the posts we have taken up the issue with the developer with no success and I’d like to point out this forum is for woo commerce csv importer which the paid variations add on is unsurprisingly an add on but thanks for your input. That said I found the free simple product importer to work ok although it would benefit from more or better instructions.

In reply to: [Woocommerce CSV importer] issues with importEither you need to publish some very clear instructions for using the variations or you should remove it until you’ve fixed it. The basic importer seems to work “ok”. The variations add-on is a nightmare. You need an arbitrary sku for any variables just to upload. If you try merge any variations and it doesn’t like what it sees then it seems to do random things. I had it change the price to “free”. I also tried to update 3 of 5 variations of a product and it simply deleted them. Hopefully you can get this fixed or at least supply some decent instructions and warnings. You shouldn’t be charging for something that works this badly.

In reply to: [Woocommerce CSV importer] issues with importI’d appreciate a reply. I purchased the “variations” add-on these are the issues I’m having using WP 3.8 ……
1. If any of the variation fields are incorrectly entered the process completes without an error but the product doesn’t show. Ok during testing, not so good doing a big import.
2. I’m not clear on if the variations have to be uploaded on a separate csv file or if they can be included. The documentation says “There are several new fields available for you when you create a header” so I assumed they could go on the same sheet.
3. If this is the case I’m not sure what the “variation_master” SKU should be. All my SKU’s relate to products which are listed as variations. In your example all the variations use the “variation_master” SKU as a parent.
https://allaerd.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/variations_csv.png4. If the variations can’t go on the same csv file and need to be uploaded separately I’m guessing that the first variation of a product that is uploaded would then become the “variation_master”. The issue with doing it this way is that on the basic csv importer you can’t define attributes, therefore, as far as I can tell if the initial variation is for example a red t-shirt, size L, you would need to import the initial csv data, go in, add the attributes manually to allow you to define this product as the “variation_master” in your variations sheet so that you can then do a second import with the other variations.
5. I can’t find a way to import images to the variations. I can import a gallery with a featured image but if I have red, green and blue t-shirts I then need to go into each variation and manually import the correct color. Is there a way to do this on the main import or can it be done on a second import by merging, or does it need to be done manually?
thanks

In reply to: uploaded theme has no contentthat could be the reason, I’m new to WP. So you are saying that when you load up a theme it doesn’t come in with any content; no images; no menu; no ipsom text? I had one theme that had content then the next couple didn’t which threw me
