Done. Thank you for pointing me in that direction. Unfortunately, my hopes are not high that anything will be done if it hasn’t by now. These seem like standard features of any image library.
I understand that WordPress was created as a blogging platform and that organizing the media library by date seemed like a logical thing back when it launched, but it’s evolved into a lot more and needs way better organizing features.

Thanks for your response. Could you define what you mean by “WP sometimes doesn’t like it”
Does that mean it will crash the site? Does that mean the admin will do strange things or the layout will get messed up? I just want to know what I might expect. Thanks.

Those colors are really screwing with my eyes. Here are my suggestions:

    – The diamond background pattern is way too busy and has too much contrast. I would choose one of the colors and to a duotone diamond pattern with it. Even mute them back a bit, because the colors are fairly bright.

    – The homepage content area needs to be white (or possibly very light cream). You are the designer here, not her. You have to explain to her why it NEEDS to be white or a light color. Purple is one of the worst colors to work with from a design standpoint. It absolutely CANNOT be black text on a purple background. Right now, the page background takes priority over the content area (although, honestly that is a good thing on this homepage). It draws all my attention.

    – Everything on the homepage looks like it is floating. In particular, the right sidebar. I would just remove that altogether on the homepage.

    – Even if your template was perfect, the homepage ruins this website.

    – The oval of the logo looks very aliased around the edges (pixelated).

Basically, I would have said that if they are only paying someone to do a template, then I would’ve turned this client down. They can buy a pre-made template and just change the colors. If they are your client and have a good working relationship, then they should respect your design decisions. That’s why they hired you in the first place, isn’t it.
You need to put your foot down with them.
Not trying to be mean or anything, just telling you after many years of experience, that you need to be firm with some client in order to help them make the right decisions for their business.
    Hope this helps.

Seems like a fun idea for a site. However, that page background is vibrating my eyes out of my head. No one is going to remain on the site very long if they have to look at that pattern. You need to tone it waaaay back.

Thanks. I do some coding. Just CSS and HTML, though. I may have made a couple mods to the template in certain areas, but it’s mostly plugins doing the work.

I am using Widget Context to display certain widgets only on certain pages, along with Subpages Navigation for my sidebar navigation.
I am using PHP execution to be able to put PHP code in widgets and post articles. I am using this to get my homepage hero image and sidebar Cricket Facts to rotate randomly on page refresh using a small bit of PHP code.
Cart66 is used for the shopping cart.
Custom Contact Forms for my contact page.
WP Render Blogroll links for my links page.
Then just some stuff for the backend: Backup WordPress, W3 Total Cache, etc.

Thanks. Yes, I put large watermarks because I have had quite a few problems in the past with people (even large companies) stealing my art and using without permission. I had a couple law suits over it. So, I’m slapping a big watermark on everything now. ??

Nevermind. I seem to have not noticed the actual Gallery controls because I mostly use the HTML editor. ??

Any ideas? I would appreciate it.

Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to remove the “by author” under the post, but keep the “This entry was posted in ____”? I have been looking around and deleting and replacing code to try and do this, but not too familiar with PHP. Twenty Ten had this built into the CSS that I could just display:none, but the Twenty Eleven theme does not.
    Thanks.
