    hello @themadcatlady

Thanks for the setting up and the feedback.

The size of the images and block really depend on your theme and where you put it in your page. It’s hard to have a one size fits all solution for a plugin.

For the video, unfortunately at the moment, Bluesky send me a format that is under the form of a playlist (even for one video), which is not natively supported by browsers players. I’m looking at a technical solution to force the ability to play it but I didn’t find a light solution at the moment.

Keep a look at the next versions though, it might come in one or two months.

    Thanks again ??

ps. If I may ask, what are the custom CSS you applied for your case?

    Hello @christophe971

Ho, we should’ve started with this info: Spectra apparently does a lot in the background without telling you, like removing inline styles or deciding which styles are used to clean up the front-end.

I’ve tried something so that the styles would pass through the Spectra cleaning mechanism, but I’m totally unsure as I can’t test it at the moment. (I’ve read some people online having the same issue)
Hoping this fix with the coming v1.4.4 works.

For the admin area, some bugs might be cache, other should happens only in layout Default, but I’ve fixed them in the 1.4.4, alongside other browser weird behaviour when you are browsing on a Chrome.

Thanks for the good reporting again ??
    Keep me posted!

    Hello @themadcatlady

Thanks for the feedback and the test page, appreciated.
Can we check together the settings of the plugin to be sure everything is set properly? They should be available from your admin area at Settings > Bluesky Settings. This option should be unchecked.

Can you confirm you have that activated on your side?

If you changed the value, make sure there is no cache involved. (CTRL + SHIFT + R when on the webpage)

Thank you for trying this, have a good day!

    Hello @christophe971

I’ve just updated the plugin to version 1.4.2, with a fix to force the printing of the custom CSS.
If you are using the version 2 of the layout for the post feed, there is a known omission on my side: the part “@bananierbleu.bsky.social” isn’t configurable just yet but it’ll come soon as an evolution for both layout.

The update also comes with a design decision: some visual adjustements are made if the widget doesn’t have enough room: bluesky butterfly button will be slightly more discreet, some padding loss too. A bit more compact.

Hope this update fixes the issue for you. It did for my old blog, but I want to be sure.

    Une excellente soirée !

    Hello @comiskeyjg
The auto syndication will post your newly published posts from WordPress to Bluesky.

At the moment, it compose a bluesky post using your post title and it’s URL.

Improvement to come is that before posting you would be able to:
    – add a previous card to the Bluesky post
    – add a custom text instead of the title
    – add hashtags

You can activate this option in the global settings of the plugin, or post by post thanks to a small widget/metabox in the admin.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you @christophe971 for the URL.
I can better see what’s missing. When you choose custom sizes, I print a small piece of custom CSS variables in the head of your theme. But it seems they are missing in your case.

Apparently it works for the Gutenberg block, but not for the widget (that I tested only now on one of my old website). Widgets were supposed to be a edge case as fallback so I don’t take much time testing those. Sorry about that.

I’ll fix this during the day or this evening.
    Thank you for the help!

    Hello @christophe971

When you do the test in front do you use the default layout or the new simplified layout?

Do you have a test URL available online so I can check in live?

I’ll double check on my websites this evening. The 15px should be a fallback value just in case. ??

I come back to you soon with a solution.

How do you find the usability of the admin area for these font-size settings?

    Thanks for the feedback Christophe!

    Hello @pemot ,

New updates 1.4.0 including a lot of options and rework.
If you plan on updating, do it first in a safe environment.

FYI, if you can’t provide more info I won’t be able to help you, and would probably have to close this ticket to keep track of active ones.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hello @pemot

    Sorry this happened to you.
Unfortunately I can’t help with so few information.

Example of info I could need:

    • server type
    • the version number of WordPress
    • the version number of the plugin (there were 3 updates recently)
    • the type of error you get.

WordPress isn’t suppose to allow the installation of a plugin that run into a fatal error (my definition of crash), so try:

    • uninstall the plugin
    • re-install the plugin
    • catch the error you get at the installation if it happens again.

I’ll try multiple scenario in the meantime, but as you can imagine I also have multiple websites that are running with this plugin, and everything’s fine at the moment ??

    Hello @ryedalewebman

I’ve messed up with a small piece of the code. My bad. I don’t have all the necessary check in place to avoid such inconvenience. My bad.
That’s a temporary issue, let me try to fix it from work, hoping I’m not blocked by our security ??

    Hey @kurdt_the_goat
Sorry for flooding your mailbox ??
The new 1.2.0 that has just been published should appear soon in your dashboard. It comes with a fix on the shortcode. Take a look a the names of the attributes and double check your shortcodes ??

    Hello @spoonmagazine

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. Really appreciated ??

For the links, there are links on embedded posts, as well as on the entire post item in the feed. Are you referring to URL and hashtag present in the post text?

If so, know that I just created a similar issue to give a bit of visibility on the work and roadmap.
    https://github.com/geoffreycrofte/bluesky-social-plugin-for-wordpress/issues/14

Hope you appreciate the new update (1.2.0) with:

    • starterpack embed support
    • accessible lightbox for image gallery
    • some fixes on shortcode
    • a new option to remove the embeds to get a cleaner feed list

Take care and thanks for your contribution!

The plugin already has this kind of wrapping technique.

The issue might come from the break-all instead of break-word. Thanks for the report ??
Next update will include this edition.

    Hey @kurdt_the_goat
No worries, we are in the same boat. First time here too so I’m discovering specificities of this ATProtocol and more ??
I’m working on your case right now, as well as debugging the shortcode attributes.
