In reply to: My personal sitehey Mike! I’m back.
I don’t know what the above poster is referring to because I can’t find a big news section or anything…
I do see that you swapped the greet photo and I have to tell you that’s way better, imho. MUCH more welcoming and prof.
don’t forget us when you’re famous.let me go ahead and add to that…
the idea and domain are great, but the theme’s pretty well shot. you’ve got divs appearing over top of divs, all kindsa css probs…
this is the kind of idea that if it’s worth pursuing, it’s worth pursuing right. it might even justify hiring a freelance designer and/or css champ to put things just so. Note that I’m not one of those guys, so it’s just an encouraging thought.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: which plugin is best for this?the information is compiled as pages or posts, and remains a “draft” or “unpublished” accessible through your admin manage section. You can then use the core WordPress user-rights system to determine which users have the right to read/edit/publish those posts/pages.
You can also set user-level restrictions on who can access the forms in the first place.
Additionally, you can assign a default category for each form’s submission, so you can create a category like “submissions” and have all the submitted posts go to that category as draft-status/unpublished. Again, you would use the core WordPress user levels to control which users would have access to these unpublished posts.
That’s all I’ve got, really. Try it out and see if it works for your purposes.
If I had an idea and a domain name as awesome as complaintbucket.com, I wouldn’t even worry about my theme. Pretty cool.

In reply to: Help with free Revolution themethe problem is less with your articles than it is with the image placement.
WP 2.6 includes some additions/revisions to how floating images are handled. These changes don’t necessarily play nice with older themes.
try adding the following code to your theme’s style.css and see if you cant work up a solution from there:
.aligncenter, div.aligncenter { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } .alignleft { float: left; } .alignright { float: right; } .wp-caption { border: 1px solid #ddd; text-align: center; background-color: #f3f3f3; padding-top: 4px; margin: 10px; /* optional rounded corners for browsers that support it */ -moz-border-radius: 3px; -khtml-border-radius: 3px; -webkit-border-radius: 3px; border-radius: 3px; } .wp-caption img { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0 none; } .wp-caption p.wp-caption-text { font-size: 11px; line-height: 17px; padding: 0 4px 5px; margin: 0; }

In reply to: Content Font Color Will Not Change!some themes contain global font and color controls, so that could be the culprit. If you can’t provide a link to your site, try switching to a test theme and see if you have the same problem. There’s not much here for anyone to work with unless they know what variables are in play, but it resonates of a theme issue.

In reply to: which plugin is best for this?I’m unclear as to where you want the submitted information to go…
but as for your other criteria, it sounds like just the task for TDO Miniforms. You can create as many custom forms as you like, and assign your own rules for user-level access to each one.
this is geared toward outputting WP pages and posts, although there is no requirement that you ever actually publish the pages/posts. If you’re looking for a solution that sends the submitted data to an email addy or some such, this might not be the right tool.

In reply to: [Plugin: Admin Management Xtended] AMX no longer working since 2.6 upgradeAlphawolf
following up from earlier. I ran the latest version of Firefox, and behold, AMX works a charm… just like it used to in IE. I went ahead and installed the Firebug addon, though it’s a bit foreign to me. Then it occured to me that you’ve probably already inspected the site with Firebug, so I don’t know what it would tell me that it doesn’t tell you.AMX is still not working in IE. None of the functions are enabled, and mousing over the “dead” post management icons gets “javascript: void(0);” in the status bar.
So I should turn the question around and ask if you’ve successfully tested with WP 2.6 running on IE 7 ?
I can continue to develop my site by using Firefox when I’m in admin, and I know how much developers love FF, but IE is still the dominant browser, so I’d love to see your plugin working there.
Before I go to bed, let me add that in 6 months or so of working with WordPress, your plugin is far away the most useful I’ve installed. So I’m a big fan of your work. Don’t think of me as a complainer; think of me as a free test user.

In reply to: [Plugin: Admin Management Xtended] AMX no longer working since 2.6 upgradethank you for responding. I’m extremely frustrated, as the complexity of the site I’m absolutely DEMANDS such a plugin for inline management.
1. never heard of Google Gears. don’t know what it is.
2. I actually completely deactivated and uninstalled EVERY plugin, then tried AMX alone. same result. I downloaded the zip package 3 separate times… same result.
3. I don’t typically use Firefox but will install this Firebug thing right now and report. Here is the detail error message from IE:
Line: 363
Char: 26
Error: Expected ‘]’
Code: 0
URL: https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/edit.php
4. I’m not sure how to provide a demo login, because the site is on my local machine, being developed on a xampp installation. Please don’t tell me that’s the problem, because nothing changed in my installation AT ALL other than the 2.6 WP upgrade, and everything was working before, including AMX.I will post some screen shots if that will help. I will install Firebug now and report back with whatever input I can get from that.

In reply to: [Plugin: Category Posts Widget] Excerpt differs on site, excerpted postI’ve been having the same problem. This is clearly a bugaboo in the plugin, which is a shame because I really like it. I know next to nothing about php, and yet I’m gonna go try to mimic kat’s kind suggestion. If you hear the sound of a screaming man echoing across the intertubes, that’d be me, busting my site….

In reply to: A Guest Post Plugin?can anyone actually get this plug in to work? I’m 15 hours into messing with it, and still can’t make heads or tails. The interface is mind-boggling confusing; no matter how many times I try to create a custom form with the widgets I get nothing but the default form, and can’t find any way to put a form inside a post or page… only create a random separate page containing the (default, gdmt) form.
