In reply to: Reinstalled WP, Lost Some TablesI take it that it worked and all is well now?
Found it via Google.
wp_options
I had to edit the URL where option_name = siturl and where option_name = home.
I also had to switch to a theme that was in the new installation.
Thanks anyway, hopefully this post will help a Googler in the future.

In reply to: Reinstalled WP, Lost Some TablesHi gastronimo,
I think you can create a new database in phpMyAdmin and import your datababase back up into it.
Then you can go to the export tab in phpMyAdmin, and export a single “backup” table into a SQL file.
Then you can go into your main database, go to the import tab of phpMyAdmin, choose your backedUpTale.sql, click on the advanced options, choose “drop table” ( if it is there, to clear the table if it is empty ), then “go”. You will end up importing just that table.
Repeat for the few tables you do want to restore.
Tip:
If you are importing a table that does not exist, make sure the name of the receiving database is highlighted.
If you are exporting a single table, make sure the name of the table is highlighted before you go to the export tab.

In reply to: Reinstalled WP, Lost Some TablesThank you that was the case.
I overwrote the wpdk_* version of the tables ( most of them near blank ) with the copies of the similarly named wp_* tables from my backups.
I got all of my posts and comments back.
Thank You.

In reply to: Reinstalled WP, Lost Some TablesI’m going to play it safe and copy the records from old to new.
I was at it for several hours today getting as far as I got.
I will try it out tomorrow when I am less frazzled.
Thanks for the idea!
Steve

In reply to: Reinstalled WP, Lost Some TablesTo be clear,
There should not be wpdk_ and wp_ tables with the same name after underscore?
Thanks

In reply to: My site keeps running out of resources and 500 errorsMy current plan is $105 a year ( less than $9 a month ). I did ask if there was an upgrade where these problems would be taken care of for me and the next step up was huge – $40 a month ( $480 a year ).
That said, I’m also not such a fan of shared servers. I would recommend a small VPS at least. You can obtain those for around $20 a month on the cheap end.
I’m not sure I understand the lingo, “shared server” in this contenxt. You don’t mean in a non-shared server account your web site is on a server all by itself?
Some hosting services do have WordPress specific shared hosting, and these are probably more likely to fit your needs. Those generally run between $5 to $10 a month, depending on your needs.
…and no “you used up your CPU crumbs” nonsense?
If it isn’t a faux paux could list some of these servers?
I would be interested in moving, even paying a little bit more to avoid these hassles.

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Sidebar drops underneath page contentHi,
I have the same problem everyone else is talking about.
I tried both fix it functions listed in this thread.
I put them (one at a time, never both in the file at the same time ) at the bottom of function.php in my main 2011 theme (not my child theme).
It seems to work for Chrome, but not for Firefox 45 on Mint Linux.
You can see that the content area is incurring on my sidebar

Any ideas?
Thanks
