In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] Handling Text ColumnsThere is a baseline element called Row. This one is what you should use to create any number of columns in your pages.
Each column can then have any number of other elements, including text blocks, or images.

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] Didnt work for me, maybe for youHi Peter,
What was the exact issue you faced? It certainly doesn’t warrant a one-star review.
If you can tell me what kind of error it gave out, I can help you get it running.

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] background rowHi there,
Can you please send us an email at [email protected]? We might need admin access to locate the problem.

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] Can You?Yes, you can. Every element can be dragged around the layout and place them in any order you want. You can arrange them in columns with the Row element, and go as far as adding rows inside other rows ??

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] Easy FrontEnd Builder optionsIt’s kinda tricky to achieve that with Forge, because it relies on pure columns.
What you want there is to have floating content. This works fine with images in the visual editor (using a text block and aligning them to the left/right). However, videos are mor difficult since they are normally designed to fill all the available width.
In any case, I’d suggest simply making the videos full width so that they are easier to see. People might want a large video for more comfort.
As for the spacing, there is an element called spacer which will let you create some vertical breathing room between elements.

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] Comparison to free pluginsThanks for your feedback Dave. It’s great to have these kind of comments and they help a lot.
Regarding features: the elements are hidden by default so that the UI is as clean and ‘out-of-the-way’ as possible. You can simply type the name of an element you want, and it’ll immediately show it to you.
I know there are few elements, but we will probably release some of the stuff that is currently on the Advanced Elements extension for free. Things like native widgets and basic design elements. The only reason I haven’t done so, is because we would not be able to backtrack if we released them for free. Taking away stuff is a no-no.
As for the typeface, that is part of the design. Typefaces are a good way of bloating your site, and they should be left most of the time to themes. Many plugins try to add them as a feature, but they end up adding to the size of the page and make websites slow. Forge is semantically correct, and limits itself to adding all the markup. Your theme should be the one providing custom typefaces for the body, heading tags, and so on.
If you compare it with Live Composer, yes. Forge is more bare-bones. But each addon packs a ton more value than each of the LC ones. We wouldn’t think of adding an entire extension with just a simple video embed, for instance. Instead, we add completely new functionality such as an entire library of layouts for agencies, conditional logic for building intranets, and so on. For the record, we plan on adding integrated AB testing and analytics to the builder.
Also, that might be part of the reason why live composer had to find a new owner. They are giving away the house, but if they don’t monetize the odel is simply unsustainable.
We don’t compete on price, but value– we are adding more features to the base plugin soon (animations, bulk editing), and the main attractiveness is the design experience.
As for the site, not sure why it loaded slowly for you. We recently had an issue with our hosting (suffered a DDoS attack), so there were a couple days with slow load times.

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] muy buenoHola Anguita,
https://forgeplugin.com/extension/furnaceMarking this as resolved.
Will look into it. Hopefully I can have a fix out by tomorrow at most.
Where is the plugin becoming sluggish? Any specific details will really help.
EDIT:
Found the issue! I’ve pushed out version 1.2.5 which should fix the widget saving/loading issue.
Regarding the sluggishness, I’d still like to know where it feels the slowest, so I can try and optimize the plugin for maximum speed.

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] I add Element CSS Classes but not appearSeems like a bug with the column element, since it’s a rather special one for layouts and such.
We’ll take a look at it and release an update to fix it ??

In reply to: [Forge - Front-End Page Builder] Good, but missing a few featuresThank you for your thoughts! That being said, the plugin is just four months old and is still growing a lot. If there’s anything we can do to turn those three stars into five, let me know ??
Seems like it neds a few adjustments. We’ll fix it on the next minor release, hopefully by the end of the week. Thanks for letting us know!
