Well, I noticed that if an image is uploaded via WordPress and you “send it to the editor” that within the img tag there is an ID number for the image you are calling ….. however, sometimes I like to upload a lot of images at a time and do so directly by FTP and was wondering how I can find out what image ID number I can give those when putting them in posts…

I know it will display even without the ID number being specified, but I was just curious.

The only problem is that the single.php is used to display my permalinks, so I want my sidebar to be there, whereas on the image page I do not. Also, the page.php is used for things such as my “contact me” page and hence i don’t want to mess with it.

What I want to do with the images is set if up so that if the image is 1200×1600, it’s not restrained by the parameters of my template but, instead, shows the image in full… and if I want to ad an advertising banner over the top of the image, I can do so. I have a WordPress blog that I run on my own but signed up with WordPress.com in order to make my spam plugin work … I was hoping to try and import content from my regular blog into my WordPress.com blog … are there any easy ways to do this? I know WordPress.com makes it easy to import from Blogger, Typepad and Movable Type, but how about from a different WordPress blog? Any tips would be great. Thanks!

Update: I figured out that this only happens when I link an image in a post to that image on a page, but not when I link the image in the post to the image itslef. I’m confused and would appreciate any input as I do not understand MySQL’s and servers and manuals and whatnot…
