They didn’t. The plugin hasn’t been updated in over three months, and the most recent version doesn’t work for us, so we remain rolled back to 0.8.2.

(We use the free WP Rollback plugin to roll back to the previous version.)

For some odd reason though the plugin continues to repeatedly update itself on two of our sites, which breaks things until we log in and discover it. Still would like to upgrade to paid, but have very little confidence in the software now. Biding my time until the next update and then I’ll re-assess.

I finally had the opportunity to try this on two sites that were having the same problem, and putting WF into learning mode fixed it for both of them.

FWIW, both sites are hosted by SiteGround if that helps.

    Thanks for the tip!

    Thanks Julian!

    mcsupport:

Why even have the plugin available for download here if you refuse to provide any more support for it here? Only have it available for download directly from your website and only for paid members, since those are the only people MC will provide support to.

You even say so on the support page:
‘Free accounts do not have access to email and chat support.’

It’s shameful to have a plugin here that you refuse to provide any support for if the user isn’t a paying MC customer. Just remove it already!

Awesome! I updated and it fixed the WPBakery text box issue. Thank you!

Two other small issues I found.

    1) The template color customizer doesn’t work. The little color-box appears broken, and when I click on ‘coupon background’ and ‘coupon text color’, nothing happens. Here’s a screen shot of the issue.

BTW this is with TheGem theme.

    2) The toggle switch to turn off specific emails in the ‘scheduled emails’ panel doesn’t ‘stick’. When I navigate away from that panel and go back to it, the email that I toggled off is toggled back on again. I’d like to toggle off emails for coupons that have already been used.

If those two little issues can be fixed, and the plugin works as I hope, this will be an absolute game-changer! (It might even change my life!) Thanks for your continued hard work on it! ??

Also, I know this may be very difficult from a development standpoint, but if at some point the plugin could be able to tell which coupons have already been used and which haven’t, and only send reminders for the coupons that haven’t ever been used, that would be *amazing*.

Just discovered that it’s not compatible with WPBakery and TheGem theme. It breaks the backend editor text box, making it impossible to add or edit any text unless it’s in classic wordpress mode.

I had to disable it. I think it needs a bit more work before it’s ready for prime-time sadly.

It’s such an awesome concept though so I hope you can get it to work! Let me know if I can help in any way.

Ok, it does look like our issue is directly related to Woocommerce and woo-hooked emails.

We have one website that doesn’t have Woo, and this evening we updated WP Offload SES to v1.2.1 and shortly thereafter received a form submission from a potential client.

We received the email right away and the email shows as sent in the WP Offload activity tab.

Sorry we weren’t able to get log reports. The Woocommerce emails were too important to spend time testing.

FWIW, both the ecommerce sites experiencing problems with v.1.2.1 use TheGem theme.

I should clarify that I installed the plugin *after* the customer this morning subscribed and then made her purchase, so perhaps that has something to do with the email reminder being scheduled to send to her?

    Thanks!

I installed the plugin again today and had no problems installing, activating and configuring settings.

    Awesome! ??

Is there a way to only send coupon code reminders to people who haven’t used their coupon code yet?

For example: I noticed that there is an email scheduled to go to a customer who subscribed for the coupon this morning and ended up using it for a purchase later today.

I assume that the toggle under ‘Actions’ in the Scheduled Emails panel is supposed to turn that specific email off and prevent it from sending?

If so, when you navigate away from that page, the toggle turns back to on when you go back to it. There appears to be no way to save it. If turning off emails would be a temporary workaround, that would work for us.

    Thank you!

    Well, I spoke too soon.

None of our Woocommerce or Woo-associated emails are sending using the current version.

Along with Woocommerce, we use two different plugins that both send emails regarding coupons- one a coupon upon subscription, that has a hook to Woo, and a second that is a reminder of the Woo coupon, sent by the other plugin.

The Woo emails (order receipts to customers, notifications to us, shipping emails, etc) are not sending at all with 1.2.1, and neither are any emails from the two Woo-linked plugins.

I don’t know if WordPress itself is sending emails, because we rolled back the WP Offload SES plugin before we could determine that.

With v.1.2.1 ALL test emails sent, through Wordfence diagnostics, our Check Email plugin, and through the WP Offload SES all work just fine.

So I don’t know if this is just an issue with Woo-linked emails?

Rolling back to 0.8.2 again fixes the problem.

    Update:

I think I finally figured out the problem.

Somehow the plugin was updated automatically on one of our sites two days ago, and we discovered that the emails started failing again.

This was the error message we received when trying to send a test email via the WP Offload SES admin.

    Error executing "SendRawEmail" on "https://email.us-west-2.amazonaws.com"; AWS HTTP error: Client error:POST https://email.us-west-2.amazonaws.comresulted in a403 Forbiddenresponse: <ErrorResponse xmlns="https://ses.amazonaws.com/doc/2010-12-01/"> <Error> <Type>Sender</Type> <Code>InvalidClie (truncated...) InvalidClientTokenId (client): The security token included in the request is invalid. - <ErrorResponse xmlns="https://ses.amazonaws.com/doc/2010-12-01/"> <Error> <Type>Sender</Type> <Code>InvalidClientTokenId</Code> <Message>The security token included in the request is invalid.</Message> </Error> <RequestId>cdd5b470-dd72-40a7-8ceb-ca94dbce36cc</RequestId> </ErrorResponse>

I discovered that when upgrading the plugin, somehow the secret access key was stripped from the settings. Since that key isn’t shown in the settings it wasn’t immediately apparent.

I deleted the access keys settings, re-saved, and then input them again, resaved again, sent a test email and it succeeded.

We are storing the keys in the database. Would I be correct in assuming that if we place them in the wp-config file that this won’t happen again upon updating the plugin?

    Thanks Matt!

    (@cowbelly)

So I made a mistake when diagnosing. when I thought I had deleted this plugin, it was actually a different, nearly identical plugin with virtually the same name and the same functionality. Once I deleted Coupon Reminder all was well again.

I love VillaThemes’ other products, so I’m confident that their update fixed the problem. They have the fastest support online. I’m convinced of it.

One other important thing I forgot to mention.

Caldera forms completely ignores any upload_max_filesize you have set in your WordPress admin or on your server.

Yeah the code is there in their php files, but it just doesn’t work.

Think you are actually limiting uploads to 1mb (or less)? Well you’ll be in for a nasty surprise when you discover that 10GB+ of your server is being used up by user-submitted files you had expected to be under 350kb in size.

Do you enjoy user uploads that are 14MB or bigger? Great! You’ll love this plugin.

The very best part about it?

It doesn’t just upload ONE copy of the attached photos- it uploads MULTIPLE copies. So now you don’t just have ONE 14MB user file on your server- now you have six or seven! Rinse and repeat until your server is full.

    Good times.

If you need a form with good file upload capabilities- this is not it.

I was just prompted to update, and updated the plugin, and all is good now!

Thanks so much Josh. My client loves this plugin and I’m so happy I was able to get it working for her. ??

Thanks for the speedy response Josh!

Unfortunately I’m still having the same problem. I try to activate and get this error on the plugin page:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
