In reply to: Import fails – permissions errorI tried – on both directories and the file – although I can’t believe they should be left open to everyone. Now, I get a 500 error on trying to get to the blog’s site admin page.
The installation of the blog was by softalicious. I’d really not prefer to try a manual installation, but if there’s no other possible solution, I’ll do it, hoping that Import will then work.

In reply to: looking for a Fluid Blue replacementIt’s not listed among the themes I can see from my blog when I go to Appearance -> Themes -> Install Themes
I’ve tried searching for “fluid-blue”, “fluid blue”, and even just plain “blue”, but it never shows up
Why not?
I don’t want to go to the trouble of having to manually install it. It “must” be doable somehow from within a WordPress blog, but how?

In reply to: FluidBlue "about" and sidebar questionsOK, I’ve got it (I hope.) The original blog is at https://bcscentral.info/blog/
The copy is at https://bcs.webatu.com/blog/The original did not use any widgets, and I mistakenly added some in the new blog. It’s still confusing as to what should be done in the .php files, and what needs widgets (or CSS or …), but I’m resolving this.

In reply to: FluidBlue "about" and sidebar questionsGetting closer … The post categories apparently came from the old site OK. The problem remaining is “meta”. I only want Site Admin & Log out (or Log in). I can’t find any place to delete the RSS and WordPress links

In reply to: FluidBlue "about" and sidebar questionsThe “ABOUT” fix was easy as that – thanks.
On the “Widgets” page, there is “Sidebar 1” with nothing in it.
There is a “Links” widget, but moving it to “Sidebar 1” (I didn’t know how to change the title) resulted in BLOGROLL the same as before, but CATEGORIES and META were gone from the blog’s sidebar.

In reply to: import of WordPress blog failsThanks. I chmod-ed wp-content/ to 777, and imported – the posts are in the new blog, but there was a warning with each one:
1 Importing post "title"... PHP Error Message Warning: set_time_limit() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/-----/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/wordpress-importer.php on line 438
I think this can be markd “resolved”

In reply to: scheduled posts still not working in 2.8.2 ??Sorry for yet another post, but I understand why this define is not the preferred method. I scheduled a post last night for early this morning, and nothing. I then scheduled the same draft for a couple of minutes in the future and it was again not published.
Is there any other possible workaround?

In reply to: scheduled posts still not working in 2.8.2 ??Thanks – took a few minutes – the first try didn’t work – but the server eventually recognized the change.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: SSL Login and AdminI tried it and the change was immediate – I could not access the admin or logout pages. There’s obviously more than simply adding that one line as that page you linked to suggests.

In reply to: How to display the date without a trailing comma? It shouldn’t matter, because the Custom option is not selected for Date Format, but it’s basically what produces October 5, 2009, that is, F j, Y

In reply to: How to display the date without a trailing comma? The date format is October 5, 2009
The time format is Custom: <blank> – which I why I don’t understand where the comma comes from.
