Turnstile gives more of an impression of security as its integrated into the forms.

I agree, I have the same issue on a couple of sites.

It is definitely a flaw of the system that needs fixing asap…

An update on this !!
The plugin does work as described, i.e. if you enter a url that is restricted by groups, then it will redirect to the page you specify in the 404 redirect plugin.

The confusion for me is that; say you search for a restricted page, the search results will show a 404, content not found.

Would be great if this plugin could be tweaked so that if a restricted page is searched for by someone who doesn’t have permission to access it, then the search results still show the link to the page, but on clicking the link the browser is redirected to the 404 redirect page.
A bit long winded, but hope this makes sense.

Perhaps a pro version with this capability ?

it does let you redirect to a page, just use the page id

Any chance you can develop it ?
What would the time scale be ?
I’m just starting to learn PHP, so would think it will be a while before I can manage to customize it by hard coding.
