Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my feedback.
I have tried to get attention from other developers of Markdown-plugins but not many commented back.
I will be happy to test anything you can send me. I am on GitHub at the username tbdalgaard

I think it would be a good idea to mention the accessibility issues in the readme. That would certainly have helped me out when I reserached for good Markdown plugins some time ago.
Let us stay in touch and perhaps we can find each other via GitHub if you have any PR ready for testing. ??

    Hi Michelle!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. That was extremely helpful!

I just want to be sure we were on the same page about a few things:

    Michelle wrote:

Sorry I wasn’t clear here. What I ment was that I wish there was a function to convert blocks/HTML to Markdown format. I saw this work back in WordPress 4 with a plugin called WP-Markdown by Stephen Harris. He has left this plugin, which never worked with WordPress 5 or later. But one cool thing this plugin did was, if you enabled Markdown for any posttype, you could edit it directly in Markdown. If content already was there it was converted for you. That ment I could very easy edit older content and still use Markdown even though the older content was done in HTML.
There are other Markdown plugins, as you mentioned later, but those are either inaccessible and their developers aren’t too interested in fixing this. Therefor I have searched for a good, stable Markdown solution for years, and Jetpack might be the way to go from now on.

    About question 3:
Are you saying that if I open an empty post within the block editor, change to the code area of the block editor (where you can type HTML or Markdown only) that this content gets stored in the database? If I create content this way is the CommonMark parser used?

    About question 4:

Why does the option “copy all content” copy both Markdown source and WordPress intern code?

I see I can select the Markdown block and then copy all content manually, but what if I want to copy more than one markdown block with the content to a Markdown editor for later reference?

Thanks again for your help and support. ??

Ok, now I have done some more testing:

Postie will work with Markdown if the following HTML can be removed:

<div class="postie-post">Here goes the message composed in Markdown</div>

If the code above gets removed the Markdown will be rendered just fine.

Should I try to open an issue about creating blocks via PHP? That might be good if the classic editor is unsupported at some point. I still think there is a need for a plugin like Postie, and therefor I will be happy to open an issue on Github if you are interested.

    Hi @daext t

    Thanks for your quick reply.

No, the Submit Markdown section adds in the edited post the Gutenberg blocks generated from the provided Markdown text.

Ok, I get that, it would be great if the plugin did one of two things:
    1. If the user entered text via the submit-box this text could be stored with the post. by doing so it would be very easy to update the post without loading documents into the post editor, and this could speed up the workflow for me and other people. It would also be nice if the converted content from the block editor could show up somewhere inside the post screen.
    2. If the first suggestion is impossible, I would suggest creating a document when the submit button is clicked, and the title should then be the post_title. That might help users like me who work exclusive in Markdown.

I get the idea behind the document structure, but it would be really nice if these things could come together some more. I do almost all my work in Markdown, so this plugin looks very promising. I will for sure follow the updates and test it.

    Another note:
For the documentation it would be great to have a FAQ or some documentation on your official website, just so questions like mine could be answered from that place. What does the options section do? Haven’t found any references to this anywhere.

    Best regards Thomas

    Hi!

I got it to work, but I had to change the compression format from zip to tar.gzip, that has worked almost any time for me.
However I had one instance where my backup file was corrupted when I tried to download it from Dropbox.
How can I find out if there is any chance for this for a future backup? This time I was lucky that I had a backup hosted at a test-site, but that is not how I would like to have my backups working for the future… I tried downloading the same tar.gz file with Safari and Google Chrome on my Mac but every time the file was broke and couldn’t be extracted so I could restore from that. I have only seen this once, but hope I will never see it again.
Thanks for a great plugin though, it has saved my bacon a lot since I found it a few years ago!

    Hi!

I tried your fix, but I still can’t get licenses sent. When an order is completed I get the following result in the mail I get while testing this:
    Notice : post was called incorrectly . Order properties should not be accessed directly. Backtrace: require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), wp, WP->main, WP->parse_request, do_action_ref_array, WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_API->handle_api_requests, do_action(‘woocommerce_api_wc_gateway_paypal’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_Gateway_Paypal_IPN_Handler->check_response, do_action(‘valid-paypal-standard-ipn-request’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_Gateway_Paypal_IPN_Handler->valid_response, call_user_func, WC_Gateway_Paypal_IPN_Handler->payment_status_completed, WC_Gateway_Paypal_Response->payment_complete, WC_Order->payment_complete, WC_Order->save, WC_Order->status_transition, do_action(‘woocommerce_order_status_pending_to_processing’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_Emails::send_transactional_email, do_action_ref_array, WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_fil in wp-includes/functions.php on line 4139

I have downloaded the latest version from the WordPress plugin directory, but should I try to take a look at the Github page instead?

    Thanks in advance

I just tried deactivating all other plugins so Woo Commerce was the only active, and still the same issues. And how can I fix the wordpress can not load Woo Commerce after the latest update?
I have looked at the documentation but couldn’t find a tip that could lead me to a workaround for the issues I have with the setup right now.

    Hi!

I have a similar message that shows up in 3.1.1 of Woo commerce. The error is shown when an order is placed on the site and the received is sent to the user. So this is quoted from the email the user receives:
    Notice: post was called incorrectly. Order properties should not be accessed directly. Backtrace: require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), wp, WP->main, WP->parse_request, do_action_ref_array, WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_API->handle_api_requests, do_action(‘woocommerce_api_wc_gateway_paypal’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_Gateway_Paypal_IPN_Handler->check_response, do_action(‘valid-paypal-standard-ipn-request’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_Gateway_Paypal_IPN_Handler->valid_response, call_user_func, WC_Gateway_Paypal_IPN_Handler->payment_status_completed, WC_Gateway_Paypal_Response->payment_complete, WC_Order->payment_complete, WC_Order->save, WC_Order->status_transition, do_action(‘woocommerce_order_status_pending_to_processing’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, call_user_func_array, WC_Emails::send_transactional_email, do_action_ref_array, WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_fil in //wp-includes/functions.php on line 4139
On another note, if I click on the “Woo Commerce” icon in the dashboard in WordPress it says: Error can not load Woo Commerce.

    Hi thegulshankumar!

Have you tried going to TOC+ settings, view advanced settings and disable the css option?
I think that does what you are asking for.
I have an issue though where CSS is inserted into my RSS feed, and I am not sure how to fix it. I turned the option mentioned above off, and hoped that fixed it, but it didn’t at least not for now.

    Hi James!

Thank you so much for your respons.
The alternative to the validator was very great, I will save it. It looks like it will be updated more than feedvalidator.org.
I found out that two plugins gave me issues, so I am looking at it right now.
Thank you again for your help. You saved me many ours of work and frustration.
    Best regards Thomas

Yes, I ran into the same problem. My workaround was to change the status of the post to draft, then do my note and save as draft, then the user got the message, and could redo the post after some edits.
I also wish that we could skip the step regarding change the post status, when the notes plugin is installed, but I love the system when it works.

I had some issues as well. I noted the following:

    1. I had to install the easy wp-smtp server plugin, and I started getting E-mails via WordPress again.

Does this change anything for both of you?

    Best regards Thomas

    (@coolfortheblind)

Ok, I changed a few settings for the server load, and it seem to work much better. Mostly I got the issues while uploading to Dropbox, so I think it works as expected.
Could you kindly do one of two things:
    1. Make a working restore process for the plugin, so it can restore from a backup?2. Or if 1. is impossible at the moment, then update the FAQ with some relevant restore information. Right now you are linking to tutorials and documentation for restoring the WordPress database only, not the exact backup. The tutorial you are mentioning tells nothing about how to restore, only how to backup manually.

I myself might find a way around this, and I am 90 percents sure about what to do. But while reading reviews about this plugin by googling a little many people are mentioning that it isn’t complete because it can’t restore a backup from e.g. Dropbox, so I decided to look at your documentation, and I think I will agree on, that if you can’t make some restoring processes then hopefuly you can make some good tutorials on how to restore from a BackWPup-backupfile.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, it comes in all the backups I’ve tested with. But the result file seems to work fine, so it is something I shall be nervous for, or can I just ignore a warning in general?

    Hi qataract !

Thank you for your PHP-code, but it didn’t solve my problem. It removed the last modified info from my posts and pages, and on top of every page the old PHP-code is shown, so I had to go back to the old code. DO you know what to do? I can not get any useful info out of the php-code since I haven’t done much in PHP except changing the config-sample.php for the WordPress install to work correctly.

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards Thomas
