Kristin, as far as I know WP 1.3 uses a slighly altered database schema, hence that’s why you’re not getting the category.
A default title would be an interesting idea, I’ll add it on the next version I release.

Ouch – didn’t think that would post. Anyhow, I’ve made a wp-mail mod which allows you to post not only text but photos and files as well!
