Thanks esmi. This is now challenging my knowledge of WP so apologies if I’m sounding thick here!

I have read the link thanks and am still a bit confused. If I move to the blog to the root directory, do I not then have the blog as my site root index page but not a separate blog page in the /blog/ directory – does that make sense? I’m not sure how making the category ‘Blog’ and the children will help?

If I then add posts, will they not then be posted to the site index page, rather than the separate blog page that I am trying to maintain?
Essentially I want the site root index now to be a static WP page rather than self php coded and the blog to be what it currently is?

Apologies if I am misunderstanding or not getting the grips of this, really appreciate your help.
