In reply to: [CongressLookup] Address or zip code not found. Please try again.I’m sorry you are having issues with the plugin after the move to the new server. One common issue users have with our plugin is not clicking the activation link in the Sunlight Labs API Key email. If you are using the new API key you requested, make sure you have clicked the activation link in the email.
But since you already know that your original API key was activated and was working on the other host, I suspect the problem may be with your new server settings or a conflict with another plugin.
CONFLICT: Please try deactivating all plugins except CongressLookup. If CongressLookup does then work, turn on one plugin at a time and test it again until you find the plugin it conflicts with. Please let us know what plugin this is. If, however, CongressLookup still doesn’t work when it’s the only plugin, then a conflict is not the problem.
SERVER SETTINGS: Please tell the webmaster of the website to enable allow-url-fopen in php.ini
https://www.php.net/manual/en/filesystem.configuration.php#ini.allow-url-fopenAlso, disable the cache option for testing, then when allow-url-fopen is enabled and CongressLookup works then enable the cache again.
RESULTS: Please let me know the results of the above actions.

In reply to: [CongressLookup] Address not foundThank you for the link.
I have determined that the Google Map part of the plugin is working because I can put in a full address and the visual map changes to that address even though there is an error message about the address not being able to be found. Therefore, the problem has to be with the connection to the Sunlight Labs API.
Please do the following two actions and report back if the plugin still does not work.
(1) Go to the original email sent to you from Sunlight Labs and re-copy and paste the API Key into the the API Key field at: WP Admin > Settings > CongressLookup making sure there are no spaces at the beginning or end of the key.
(2) Also, in that same Sunlight Labs email that sent you the API key, there is an activation link that must be clicked in order to activate the Key. Please click this link, even if you clicked it before, to make sure the key is activated.
Try the plugin again and let us know the results.

In reply to: [CongressLookup] Address not foundThen I apologize for not replying to your initial post. I had an email conversation with another user about the same time as your original post and made a faulty assumption. My apologies.
If you turn on the plugin and it is still not functioning, please tell me the page where you have it installed so I can do some testing on it. We have seen a couple of instances where there was a server setting needed but we’ll need to see where it is installed to know for sure.

In reply to: [CongressLookup] Address not foundHello, I believe we answered your questions in our private emails. The problem was that you had not actually clicked the verification link in the Sunlight Labs API email. The plugin will not work without that link being clicked.
If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact up again.

In reply to: [CongressLookup] Address or zip code not foundI am sorry you are having a problem with the plugin.
You will get this warning popup if you enter an address or zip code that does not exist in Google Maps database.
However, if this is happening for all addresses entered, you may not have verified your Sunlight Labs API key. After you signed up for your key, Sunlight Labs sent you an email with the key. It also has a verification link that needs to be clicked in order to activate it. Please make sure you do this and then try the plugin again.
Let me know if this fixes the problem.

In reply to: [CongressLookup] [Plugin: CongressLookup] not working in chromehello chrismcd,
I’m sorry you are still having issues with our plugin when using it with Chrome browser. I have looked at your site using Chrome when you first reported the issue in the other support thread and it works fine for me but I did get a warning about insecure content. Here is the screenshot I took at that time. https://congresslookup.com/graphics/ss/ckofa.org_2012.09.25.jpg
I just tried your site again just now and again it works fine for me and this time I did not get the insecure warning: https://congresslookup.com/graphics/ss/ckofa.org_2012.10.01.jpg
Can you tell me what operating system and Chrome version you are using? Are you getting any browser warnings? Have you tried clearing your cache? And can you reproduce the error on another computer?

In reply to: [CongressLookup] [Plugin: CongressLookup] not working in chromeHello chrismcd,
Thank you for reporting this,
We believe your particular issue may be due to your site being https:// and as far as we can see, Google Maps is not loaded correctly in the page.
Please open this file:
/wp-content/plugins/congresslookup/CongressLookup.phpChange this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script>
To this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script>
Please report back and let us know if this solves your problem.

In reply to: [CongressLookup] [Plugin: CongressLookup] Not WorkingI think it is good that you made this mistake early in the plugin’s life as now I can add a reminder to activate the API key to the installation instructions. So, thank you for that ??
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
