    Hi,
The ticket was closed with the following comment by a contributor:

sent to wftest right after I posted – will send again because I forgot to enter my forum name (sorry)

    Same here:
    I have errors:
Wordfence Config Ability to save Wordfence settings to the database.

    Checking basic config reading/writing
    X Basic config writing
    Checking serialized config reading/writing
    X Serialized config writing
I get a continuous (resume installation) popup so I cannot go to plugins to delete the plugin
Wordfence could not register with the Wordfence scanning servers when it activated. You can try to fix this by deactivating Wordfence and then activating it again, so Wordfence will retry registering for you. If you keep seeing this error, it usually means your WordPress server can’t connect to our scanning servers, or your wfConfig database table cannot be created to save the key. You can try asking your host to allow your server to connect to noc1.wordfence.com or check the wfConfig database table and database privileges.

    Also WRONG
    mcrypt error
‘The required module, mcrypt, is not installed, or has been disabled.‘
My PHP version is 7.2.13. mcrypt module was deprecated in PHP 7.1, and removed in PHP 7.2.0. As a matter of fact this module was never required in PHP.

    Sorry about my delayed response.
By imploding I mean becoming totally unusable when updating the plugin.
The one plugin in common on sites not functioning was contact form 7.
When the plugin was disabled the sites worked again.
When we moved from a server running PHP Version 5.3.3 to a server running PHP Version 7.1.8 we were able to run the updater and no crashes.
It made me wonder if there was a version of PHP required or recommended, what versions have been tested or are no longer supported.

    Seeing this today

Hi – I just saw the same thing when I reinstalled the plugin.
Took me a while to get it up to this year, but all seems ok.

WOW nice responsiveness from a plugin author – I am stunned amazed and pleased. Thank you so much for your speedy work.
I have to say this impresses me a LOT!
Thanks for developing and maintaining this plugin.

AHA – see: [resolved] Can ‘plugin updates’ be logged on this plugin

I just came to see if anyone else had this showing in logs.
I see “guest” entries and the IP address is that of the wordpress server.

I think the plugin logs plugin updates?

Had a report from a site we host – same issue I am wondering if it is because it is an older theme.

    the theme is
    Zen Theme 1.0
    By Pixel Theme Studio
It is an old “premium” theme that has not been updated in a long time..
