Sorry for the delay. I cut the backup size down from 1.1 GB to 259 MB and it still fails to delete the lockfile. The backup files are usable though. I thoroughly checked that.

I’m enabling Support from the admin. Thanks!

What is this thing “tested” you speak of? ??

I just noticed the lock file wasn’t deleted and what happened when I deleted it manually.

I looked around the forum before I posted and didn’t see anything about this. I’ll take a look for the issues you mentioned above.

    Thanks much for your patience.

“If you are using a static page, edit the page and set the Slider Position in your post meta.”

What does this mean? If it means what I think it means then you’re saying you broke it and we have to fix it.

I have used this theme for years. I had heavily edited it at first, but I got tired of re-working everything after every update. So I worked for several months to re-do the entire site without the major edits. Now, after only two updates the site is broken again. What am I supposed to do? Should I find a different theme from a more reputable source?

    Please advise…

Thanks for the rapid response. I do feel better knowing all queries are blocked. I’ve been blocking IPs as the problem occurs, and I have had a captcha box on the form since day one.

But it baffles me how someone can enter their email address as “HIPLKIHNB4EIU” and it still gets submitted. I’m not able to do that and they are. I wish someone could tell me why.

Oh… I disabled all my plugins except yours and it still didn’t work. I don’t think I qualify for “non-standard” installation. The site URL takes you to a sub-directory of the actual webspace; but the WP installation is standard from that point on.

So “mysite.com” takes you to the WordPress-ROOT directory.

    Dennis:

Here’s what I’d do: change the theme to something else, then ftp to your site and delete the evolve directory under Themes, then go to your Theme Install page and upload the zip file for the earlier version and activate it. All your settings will still be there.

It may not be the accepted way, but I know it works because I just did it. I’ve been having problems with the newest two versions. Unfortunately it didn’t fix my issue.

    Good luck.
