I don’t really have any experience with hosting an image on some other server. Do I need to buy some kind of server space somewhere? And how can I be sure that the other server space will not have the same issue?

Question: Why does MailPoet not allow me to use media from my media folder? If it is allowed, what makes that work?

Thanks for getting back to me on this issue.

Regarding “Hotlink protection,” I am using Wordfence and Siteground Security Optimizer. On Siteground, I do not have any protected URLs listed. Wordfence does not appear to have any, either.

My site folder permissions are set to 755 for the wp-content/uploads folder.

Gmail/Apple mail – Both email platforms show images in all other emails, just not this one image from my site. I can select the logo image on my site, view it, and email it to a Gmail account and it is visible. Just doesn’t work within MailPoet. I did a test email from MailPoet that had images, and those showed up, except for my logo image (hosted locally in the media folder of my site).

I had previously looked at the blacklist issue you mention. I saw something there, maybe 2 out of the whole list, but didn’t know how to fix that. The site is brand new, as is the URL. How could it be blacklisted?

I see that other users had mentioned a similar issue a couple years ago. Is this being addressed?

Thanks for this info. My team was more interested in MailPoet, and as it happens, this was a simple enough setup. I added your provided PHP code snippet for hCaptcha, but found I had two hCaptcha boxes on the form. This was cured by turning off the code snippet.

I added the fields desired to the Field Group, and that seems to be working as planned.

It looks like the basic functions of the free version of PMP will suffice for the demo. Great plugin!

Thanks for these tips. Following up, I would like to know:

1. I see that implementing hcaptcha requires the code snippet you mentioned. Does PMP offer reCaptcha natively?
2. I want to show a potential member the kinds of newsletters that they can receive as an incentive for signing up (rather than a preference in their profile, seen only after signing up). Can the member sign-up form contain additional fields such as Zip code, and a group of newsletter topics-of-interest they can select from?
3. I noticed that PMP has an Add-On for MailPoet as well as Mailchimp. I have not attempted to use Mailchimp, and have a small amount of experience with MailPoet. Do either of these email subscription plugins do audience/newsletter sorting (without custom code)?
4. The site I’m creating is just a demo to attract funding for the concept. Are the above features available in the free version, or would one of the paid plans be needed?

NOTE: Initially, this site will offer free membership to gain an audience for vendor-sponsored content.

Thanks for replying. I don’t understand how to set up query loop to do what I want. I don’t see how to even get it started on the page. I know I need to change posts per page to “1” but I need a bit more instruction to get the block set up. The documentation is not helpful to me. The directions don’t make sense. Not enough detail about getting started, and then some mention of pagination (which I won’t need, obviously).

Can you describe step-by-step how to set it up, and then how to display 1 sticky post? Do I need to create a category, and if so, where would I add that info to the block?

“so I turned off that level” >> What do you mean by this? Did you update the price? Or set the level to hidden?

Answer: I set the level to hidden to ensure that no new subscribers chose that level. My intention was to offer only the free subscription, moving forward. I had thought that this turns off the recurring subscription, but sounds like that’s not the case.

This site is a part-time project, and I haven’t been able to devote as much time as I wanted to keeping up my knowledge of PMP.

It’s a little disheartening that this subscriber decided to go to PayPal instead of writing us directly. PayPal is looking into the chargeback that the subscriber filed with them, and has charged me their $15 fee for that and has put the subscription fee on hold. Something to be aware of, especially if the membership fees you charge are less than $15 or you tend to withdraw your PayPal earnings regularly.

Again, thanks for the tips. I’ll be looking into the site’s setup and also PayPal to see how to prevent this in the future.

Not resolved.

My schedule demanded that I leave this issue for later, so I squeezed in time to return to it last week.

Per your instructions, I grabbed the license info, then following your instructions for reinstall. I needed to wait for the weekly email report to see the results. It still shows there are no entries in the Top 10 lists for IPs, countries, failed logins, or recently blocked attacks. Recently modified files continues to show information.

I have numerous sites (18) that use Wordfence, and I’m not getting information on any of them. All are hosted at the same service, Siteground. Does Siteground block Wordfence? They have a pricey paid security app, but I haven’t tried it yet due to cost.

An update. I’m in the midst of the marketing campaign for the product on my site.

I still haven’t been able to fix the size issue. I removed the video from the page and used the Wizard again to add the video to the home page.

The still image is LARGE – the width of the page – but when I click Play, the video itself is 480×270 (the setting I have for the Default Dimensions).

I don’t want the huge still image. I want the still image and the video to display at the same size.

How do I do that?
