I deleted the files and reactivated the plugin, now I’m waiting to see if it’s stable.

Not sure it will work, but it looks like you have some missing plugin’s files.
Try to deinstall/reinstall it.

I also have this issue on 2 websites.
The reason is a heavy memory consumption that runs into PHP memory limit.
On one of the websites, I was able to increase this memory limit (128M -> 256M) but unfortunately on the second one, which lies on a cheaper hosting offer, this was not possible so I had to deactivate the plugin.

I’m now waiting for a new Sucuri release that, hopefully, fixes the problem…

Of course the plugin is installed and activated and configured (I changed the “string OK” setting for more security) and the reminder in the admin page is present: Warning: the filter by IP is enabled. Your users are seeing the temporary page instead of your website. )!
I even had a quick look to the code to understand what could possibly go wrong (I anticipated a modification of .htaccess, I was wrong).

So it was something else… and I’ve just found it after a discussion with the network guy of my company. All incoming flows come (unfortunately) with the same IP from a proxy… So there is no issue in your plugin but I need to find another way to filter the traffic!

Not a real solution, but just mentioning the “Search Regex” plugin that might help for removing the shortcodes (I’m considering to do the same thing soon…)

Same issue. I presume it could be a compatibility issue with WP 3.8.

Enabling cURL in WAMP/php was also the answer for my issue! Very glad to find this thread here because that was not trivial to debug!

No, WP doesn’t store this information (that’s why we need a plugin!).

Another plugin could be used for cross information (Login Log) but that would require some work… Interesting work, however ??
