well there are “bugs” in your code thats why your sidebar is not working. you can try to re install the theme and disable your plugins.

you can create a category and assign all the posts to that category.
I understand you are having trouble with your widgets, you can go to
appearance->widgets. You can delete your old widgets and place new ones.
ps are you using the latest version of your theme?
Have you tried recreating the sidebar? deleting the old widgets and replacing them?
in case you made mods to the theme and you updated(the theme) the mods are lost and you will have to recreate them.
or you can you a translation plugin. i know that qtranslate is free and it works (most of the times) and wpml which is not free.
