Eureka!

i just deactivated all my plugins and the formatting is now fine.

i’m going to reactivate them one at a time and figure this thing out!

this is really weird. it is as though there is an unseen item on my page and when something is shifted the space moves.

has anyone ever encountered this? it is really starting to bug me

well, after rolling back to wordpress 2.8.5 i still have the formatting problem.

come on guys, still seeking relief from this.
someone else has confirmed that it may be that the stylesheet needs editing but i don’t know

1. what to change to correct the issue?
2. why i didn’t have this problem with the theme when i used it for another site?
3. why switching to a different theme yesterday didn’t solve the problem?

Can anyone please help with this? i’m still having troubles with it.

i haven’t reverted back to the previous wp version yet. i’m hoping the problem is more straight forward.

just tried this to no avail.

the only other thing i can think of is that somehow wp 2.8.6 has a bug of some sort.

i mean, if it were the css then the problem should have been resolved with a different theme, right?

also, i’ve used this theme before and didn’t have this formatting error. that was on wordpress 2.8.5.

has anyone had a problem with version 2.8.6?

hey miocene22, this is good to hear as i was just about to go surgical on my site via my ftp trying to roll-back to a previous wp version, lol.

i’ve had a look at the css but can’t find p {margin… anywhere.

i’m now pretty darn sure the problem lies with the latest version of wordpress.

i say this because i’ve tried going back to the default theme setting, and changing the theme itself to no avail. i’m going to revert to the previous version of wordpress to figure this thing out.

… had a look at the Customizing the Read More docs page and realised that

should be
<?php the_content(“Read More: ” . get_the_title(”, ”, false)); ?>
