Update – Never mind, I found where to put it and it works!! THANKS!!! Where does that CSS snippet go? I don’t see a place in the Footer widget to put additional CSS… – Thank you for your help!

I TRIED to put in a footer that was SUPPOSED to be the full width of the page just above the site identification and WordPress Identification. However, It will NOT go full width of the page! It ends up as a crunched up footer in the middle of the bottom and looks like $H!t! So I removed it! The problem I’m having is that the Footer widget holds THREE columns for 3 different sections in the footer. It’s like a 3 column table in Word – All I want to do is MERGE the three columns into ONE and have it to be the FULL WIDTH of the page! So this is what it looks like with the Widget footer now – I “Saved” it so that you could see what is happening – but I HATE the way it looks! PLEASE help me fix this garbage! Thank you!

I REALLY could use some help on getting the footer widgets to full page width! PLEAS!!! I can see where there are evidently 3 blocks to put footers into widget areas – what I want to do is combine all three blocks into ONE width (like you would do on a MS Word Table to combine cells into ONE width) I have NO idea what the CSS code would be because I don’t know what the CSS Class name is to set the with of the widget to full size! Please, please PLEASE help!! This is VERY frustrating, and IREALLY don’t want to have to change themes just because I can’t make the footer widget expand or combined to FULL width of the page!!!

@jordesign Thank you very much! One last question before I update to the new version… I use Elementor to edit my pages and posts, will it screw things up with the free version of Elementor? TIA.

I just tried to start a new post – I keep getting an error:

    500 – Internal server error.

There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I REALLY need to get this website updated – PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi, I’ve been trying to find resources and/or figure out how to do what I want. I tried setting my goats category as a sub menu, but it doesn’t work like I want. What I want is for my main goat page to show up first, and under it (like the posts pages work) I want all my posts about goats to show up – leaving my main page at the top, and each successive post to be shown underneath in date order, by the most recent post. How do I do this? Do I need to just copy and paste all my main goat page info into a post and set that date to be the most recent? How would I “Pin” that post to the top, even if I make new posts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I never typed in ANY description into the categories, but it added it. So I deleted what was created, deactivated both plugins that I had installed to try to get this to work. Once I removed everything, it all worked – almost exactly as I wanted… I’m still trying to get my Pages that I added a category to, to show up in my menu. Not sure how to do that. I can try the plugin again, and see if it works, but at this point, all I want to do is have THREE pages where I can post my blog, and have those posts automatically GO to those pages.

In other words: I want all posts about goats to show up on my MAIN goats page, all posts about dogs show up on my MAIN dog page, and all posts about Homesteading show up on my homestead page. Does that make sense? And -why is this such a difficult thing to get WP to do?

None of these type plug ins don’t do what I wanted, but this does:

The issue was that for some reason, it put a description in my categories, but once I removed it and removed both plugins that I tried – this easy little trick did exactly what I wanted.

Hey, can anyone PLEASE help me with this? Please tell me WHERE to look for the class that has the padding for the header and the menu – and then the padding between the menu and the body of the web page? I just need to reduce all that extra padding, but I can’t find the class to reference in my CSS. Can someone PLEASE help? TIA.

Okay – this theme just has WAY to much space between sections! I need to remove some of the padding between the Header (tagline) and the Menu, and between the Menu and the text of the page. Can you please tell me what the names of those CSS classes are? I’m looking at the “Inspect” online and I can’t see which class covers which section. Ugh! Why oh why so much space???

    Thread Starter Coleen

    (@coleenh)

    Thank you!

I just used the Theme right out of the “box” – If I knew WHERE to look for the padding (I even did an inspect online to see if I could see what was going on with that.) Very frustrating – I know enough CSS and HTML to make some changes – but only if I know WHERE to look!

Now – how or what is the padding between the top menu and the page title called or where is it located? Why they made this theme with SO much padding in between areas is beyond me! It is too spread out to be easily readable on a tablet or phone!

I’m following all the getting started steps – but it WON’T SAVE! I can’t create a static page because th HOME page WILL NOT SAVE! I can’t even Preview it – It just sits there loading, and NEVER displays the page I’m trying to create.

    Hi ejcabquina and vlidi

Thanks for your responses. Okay, I understand – but I watched the video – it doesn’t show a post being created and then attaching the WP Show Posts short code to it – it shows how to create the criteria for the short code. I need to know how to attach it to a post once I have created the post. Where can I find THAT information?

    Thread Starter Coleen

    (@coleenh)

What I’m confused about – is WHERE do I write the content of my post in WP Show Posts, in order to get the post to show up on the page I’m inserting the Short code on? HOW DOES THIS WORK? Where are the instructions on HOW to write the post and insert the Short code for THAT post? HOW DOES THIS WORK? Sorry, I’m VERY Frustrated. I can’t find ANY info on WHERE to write the content of my post! Can someone PLEASE explain how this is supposed to work?
