In reply to: [Simply Static - The WordPress Static Site Generator] Thank you!Hi Rebtl, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review! I really appreciate it.
As for the request, yes! I would definitely consider integrating with the sites you mentioned. That’s probably something longer-term, but I’ll definitely add it to the list. Thanks!
Hi Abdulla, thanks for taking the time to report these issues! I’ll take a look into these and see what I can to fix them.
Hi ukazap,
Sure enough, it looks like /feed/ isn’t getting processed correctly. I’ll take a look. Thanks for letting me know!
Hi thangngoc89,
This issue should be fixed with version 1.1.3 of Simply Static. Thanks for reporting the problem!
Hi Charles,
The two issues you reported — (1) Simply Static not putting files in the right place if the base directory isn’t / and (2) not being able to download ZIP file if it’s not in a directory servable by the webserver — have been fixed with version 1.1.3. Try it out and let me know if you encounter any further issues. And thanks again for your help in resolving these! I really appreciate it.
I’ve updated the README to reflect that Simply Static doesn’t presently support Windows / WAMP. I’ve got it in as a feature request, but I don’t anticipate adding support for it in the near term.
Hi Todd,
The 1.1.3 release should have fixed any issues you might’ve encountered with using sub-directories. Let me know if you run into any problems though!

In reply to: [Simply Static - The WordPress Static Site Generator] Is my site too big? That is a very large site indeed! I would love to say that Simply Static would work well for you, but unfortunately, there are a couple things that are going to make the plugin less-than-enjoyable for you to use:
1. The main problem is that it regenerates the entire site, every time. Even if you were just to add one new post.
2. The other issue is that Simply Static doesn’t provide any kind of progress notification, so you’d just see the page spinning for a really, really long time.I do plan to fix these eventually, but it’s probably a few months out at least. If you’d like I can reply back or shoot you an email when I think it’s in better shape for you.
To answer your other question, yes, it does handle the front page of the WordPress install.
And thanks so much for asking these questions! It made me realize I should add something to the FAQ about the current limitations of the plugin.
Hi Todd,
The Origin URL reflects the WordPress Site Address (URL) — as in, what the user sees when they visit your site as opposed to where the files for your site actually reside (i.e. the WordPress Address (URL)).
Presently there is a bug where if your WordPress install is in a directory (like yours is), your generated files will also be placed in a directory. That’ll be fixed in the next release which should happen by the end of the week.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The WordPress Static Site Generator] Feature requestNo news, I’m sorry to say. It’s still near the top of my list for features to implement, but I’ve been really slammed for time the last month or so.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The WordPress Static Site Generator] Archive created zero KBHi gkatsogr,
What version of PHP and WordPress are you using?
Thanks for the review, audiodude! I’m glad the plugin worked so well for you ??
I don’t need your admin credentials, just the URL of your website. You can reach me at: [email protected]
Thanks!
Hi Rob, sorry about the trouble you’re having with the plugin. From what you’re saying it sounds like the plugin is encountering an error somewhere along the way and not completing its run, hence why you’re getting the 404 and nothing ever gets written to the final destination.
Can you think of anything out of the ordinary that might be causing an issue? If you have a link to your WordPress site that would be helpful as well, so I can try to replicate the error on my side.
