Currently, the only way to achieve what you asked for is by modifying the settings like you described (increase text length and allow all tags). We’ll most likely implement a filter or option on future releases to allow full text to be displayed, thank you for suggesting it.

I understand. I really can’t say why this is happening, from what I see, FA slider script is loaded correctly and the slider theme script also. Somewhere along the page though, something breaks the plugin.

I see you managed to solve the double slider issues but I’ll try to explain how sliders can be displayed for future reference.

Sliders can be displayed in any of these 4 ways:

1. Shortcode placed directly into post/page content;
2. Widget;
3. PHP code placed directly into WP theme files (requires theme template files editing);
4. Automatic display (for Lite, only above the main page loop).

When displaying using automatic display, you can publish sliders on homepage for example (if displaying recent posts from WP settings) or on category pages without having to put shortcodes into pages or using the PHP code.

Automatic display can be configured when editing a slider in WP Admin from tab Publish in bottom panel (Slider Output).

If you don’t want a slider to be automatically displayed into any of your pages, simply uncheck Display in dynamic areas option.

Next, to modify theme Simple font sizes and other CSS, I suggest that you first create a folder for slider themes outside the plugin’s folder. This will prevent your theme modifications from being overwritten (since all themes are by default inside the plugin folder) on future plugin updates.

No, changes like this won’t happen all the time, I can guarantee this.

Simply activating Featured Articles Lite 3 (deactivate and activate if already active) from Plugins page, just like with any other plugin.

Any update method is good (FTP, update from Plugins pages) the only thing is that update to 3.0 from 2.X for Featured Articles required plugin activation to perform certain tasks.

Unfortunately, regarding your error, I really can’t say what could be happening without seeing and debugging your installation. Since you’re on localhost, that isn’t possible.

We tested updating from plugin 2.x to 3 and we didn’t encounter the error that you specified so I really can’t say what could be wrong. By the way, when you try to edit a slider what user account are you using? (admin, editor, …)
