First off, I thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me. I appreciate it.

At first I thought your response did not make sense of my symptoms since it involved two blogs with two themes.

However, I went to one site and just tried switching themes – and sure enough, the problem cleared up.

Apparently I just happened to choose two themes that have the same unfortunate default blog page behavior.

I don’t think I made my question clear.

If you look at the one entry on my Blog page referenced above, the first sentence is bold and italic and is a separate paragraph. That formatting is being ignored on the Blog page. Also, the post does not have a More tag, and WP is now automatically inserting one.

The same thing now happens on my other blog – https://studentofastrology.com/journal/ . Each entry fades out after 4 lines, despite the fact that every one of them has a More tag later on in the article.

That illustrates my issue – the blog page ignores post formatting, and inserts a Continue Reading tag after 4 lines whether I want it or not.
