Yes, all of those things occurred.
The plugins have been co-existing for months ever since I first installed them. And WordFence doesn’t have an alternative login page as WP Security offers. I don’t really have conflicting settings as far as I can tell.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Auto-Update?WordFence, GravityForms, just to name two, have auto-update options. They update themselves every time the developers issue an update. I don’t have to do a thing.
It seems odd to me that a security plugin would not include the ability to auto-update. If an exploit were to be found in the plugin and an upgrade was available, the time between a person’s ability to update the plugin leaves a window of opportunity for an attacker to take advantage of the exploit, That is why I would prefer to use a plugin such as WordFence than includes an auto-update option.
I’ve heard back from GravityForms support and was told: “The file common.php is part of Gravity Forms and is not a security threat so you can safely white-list it in WordFence.”
So I hope that’s true.
WordFence 5.3.12
WordPress 4.2
GravityForms 1.9.6I’m getting the same warning in WordFence regarding gravityforms/common.php
Did you find anything out about this?
I am not using the download shortcode plugin. But I am just wondering if the force download php code can randomly be used to compromise my site. Is there an .htaccess line I can put in my site to prevent a file from being downloaded or something like that?

In reply to: Visual Editor Not Working in WP 4.1You guys rock.
I’ve been pulling my hair out for 2 days about the inoperable Visual Editor since upgrading to WP 4.1.1 and have sifted through dozens of red herring support tickets.
I’m no Pair and removing that code solved the problem.
thank you thank you thank you

In reply to: Theme Details button does nothingThanks Scott. While I knew WP-SpamFree hadn’t been updated in a loooooong time, it did seem to be working. But now that I know what I know, I’ll replace it with SpamShield. Thanks.
Well it appears that the plugin cForms is the culprit. Disabling that plugin gets rid of the blank dashboard. I am using an older version of the plugin so perhaps that is the issue. I’ll have to do further research.

In reply to: something weird displays@ace4space: that fixed the error. Seems like Elegant Themes should fix their own code with your solution.,
Thanks. I’ve had some NextGen gallery issues with a few other sites I manage. I’ll go back to them in the coming days and see if my new found knowledge will help solve those issues. Thanks.
OK. I did not realize you were referring to Browser cache. That I know how to do ??
I do not know how to clear caches. What caches? And how are they cleared?
Strangely today, the Pages and Posts pages in Dashboard are not blank.
Could it be that deactivating and activating plugins in a different order could have affected this?
Very odd.
Pages and Posts pages in Dashboard are blank for me too. Disabling NextGen restores complete Dashboard functionality.
This needs to be fixed.
